Yes another food thread.

So I order a grilled chicken breast and vegetables with mushroom sauce, something like this I imagined;

I got a crumbed piece of chicken that went underneath the layers of a parmy...bashed within a centimetre, and tasteless....something like this...

After waiting 50 minutes for this delight, I could not be bothered complaining as I was ready to eat my hand off.

So BF'ers, share you tales of menu v reality meals....

If the menu isn't up on the wall, behind the counter with most of the choices beginning with Mc, I tend not to eat there.

Anyone ever been to that Pancake place down the alley off Hindley St?

A few years back. On the beers. See the pancake place up the alley and think to myself "pancakes, they alright once every 5 years". So I go up there with a mate. The place is a shit dump. Reminded me of dirty English cafe. I order pancakes with beef thinking it will be alright.

The reality: prison slop. Minced meat on a pancake.

The worst part. As soon as the plate was put in front of me I remembered going to a Pancake Parlour about 10 years earlier downstairs on Collins or Burke St Mall. Same thing - prison slop.

I've had pancakes 3 times in 25 years. Twice was dudded with prison slop, the other was pretty good. Pancakes at the Rocks in Sydney. But I still walked out of the Rocks thinking, that'll be my serve of pancakes for 10 years.

I worked for a now defunct pizza chain in the early 90s and was involved in filming an ad spruiking it's wares. My job was to help make the pizza that was to filmed for the ad, never before or since have I used a ruler to make a pizza. All of the ingredients were hand sliced and the gap between them measured to ensure that they looked good on film. Glaze was used on the dough to make it shine, it was a real eye opener. Needless to say it looked nothing like the shitty pizzas we used to turn out on a regular basis.

Ordered duck from a menu in the Czech Republic thinking it would be a nice crispy golden duck breast or carved slices of duck.

They brought out virtually a whole duck with the neck and head still attached and it was scrawny and grey rather than golden and crispy. Nearly threw up when I saw it, you really don't want to see the head of what you're eating and the rest of it wasn't appetising at all. Pushed the duck aside and just ate the chips while my mate was tucking into a nice big juicy steak while pissing himself laughing.

Pancake Kitchen, such a shit hole. Takes like 19 hours to prepare your food as well.
