Its my opinion that if Croad is traded no matter how good a deal we get it in the long run will be bad for our struggling club.
The fact remains we have an image problem and trading Croad after he made a committement to the dockers (A high profile victorian coming to the club) will not only discourage a similiar player doing the same in the future but it cannot be good for hte eastern state players moral.
I am also begining to swing towards keeping Brown due to a similar reason.He has stated his loyalties to the club (Which is a dieing breed among new drafties) and for this reason alone he should be retaind.
Forgeting the fact that both have potential to be special players in the future.

Well that is my piece.
By all means go for Headland but I dont want it to cost us reputation nor confidence from the players.

5th pick and McPhee (Who is rumored to be home sick) and maybe another player/pick.
Other than that I would suggest we wave headland good bye

And the trading up would be for Wells, not Headland.

I am starting to feel for Croad, sort of like how I felt for Wayne Brittain when there was all this talk in all of the papers and sites about how their Club doesn't want them anymore and what they can get for them.

No matter what happens, Croad will feel unwanted and maybe might play likewise.

I will say this, when a team is constantly made to feel unstable and nothing is sure, it shows on the ground.

Stability is the road to success and off-loading Croad when he only just got there is not the best of signals.

If you do get Des, I hope he lives up to all of your expectations.

Absolutely. There's been intense speculation about Croad coming to Victoria; moving to St.Kilda as part of the Chick/Everitt deal, etc.

Croad is a gun player, we'd love to have him at Moorabbin, but Freo need to put a message out here to their players, fans and indeed the football world. Croad should NOT be traded - He was 'worth' pick #1 in a 'strong' draft and although he hasn't had a 10/10 year, he still kicked 42 goals and looked bloody dangerous.

He could well be Freo's Kouta if he gets a bit fitter - adds some muscle and increases his running capacity. A huge asset to the Dockers, a real 'franchise' player who should be safely sealed away with T&J Longmuir, Pavlich, Hasleby, Bell, Medhurst, etc as the 'untouchables'.

I'd love to see Croad in red, black and white, but he'll be wearing *that anchor* for a lot longer if any sanity prevails over there.
