It doesn't go for long. I watched the whole f**king video just for that little bit.
Dunno if it's invite but I think anyone can do the ride.
Since when is Phil allowed to show up? After Vinnie died?
I think he had gone a few times before that. When Vinnie couldn't attend. To his dying day Vinnie never saw Phil again after Dime died. I know Phil said a few stupid things that caused the rift, but I thought Vinnie went overboard with it. It wasn't Phil's fault that that nutter shot Dime.

Phil was most likely just wacked out on painkillers and smack cause his back was so screwed. But after he had surgery on it, and hurricane katrina forced him to get clean when he couldn't score due to being cut off in the floods (lol) i'm pretty sure he's been clean ever since. In a recent interview he said he believed they could have worked it out and got the band back together again, if only Dime was still around. And just before Vinnie died he was trying to get the 3 of them back together with someone like Zakk Wylde on guitar. I don't reckon Vinnie would have done it though.

Yeah didn't think he could show up if Vinnie was there. I get it he was his brother and they were really close. Even though Phil was smacked out that shit he said was pretty bad. Almost inciting some nutcases to do shit.
That said if Dime didn't die I think they wouldve got back together at some point.

I do recall him saying something like "i'd love to smack that guy". Referring to Dime. Which is suprising considering how you never ever hear anyone say a bad word about Dime. Everyone just loved him. But Rex did say Phil is a pretty toxic dude.

It's still hard to fathom what happened though. How did that nutcase assume killing Dime would help the situation? All he did was make it 100% that they would never reform. Dickhead.

He went on a rant in a metal hammer or kerang after Dime said something about him.
He was saying something like he needed to be beaten severely, he can turn him into vapor, how he has people everywhere who will do anything he says
A week later he got shot.
Then Phil said he didn't say it, so Vinnie asked for the tape of the interview and he did say it.
Vinnie and Dimes missus just f**ken hated him after that and said they'd never speak to him again.
I'd be the same TBH.
But kinda feel a bit bad for Phil a bit. You could tell by the interview he was off his face, and he would feel like absolute shit about it.

The Down III album was pretty much all about his regret, and his hurt feelings from being banned from dimes funeral. Actually the song The Path is all about that.

Uninvited.
To cry out loud.
I’m a brother, stone cold true.
Love and suffer.
Siamese cult.
Half divided.
So i trudge on now.

Very heartfelt lyrically that album.

Yeah I think I Scream is about that too I'm guessing. Sounds like it.
TBH he can't feel too put out about not being allowed at the funeral.
He rang Dimes missus before the funeral and said something like right things happen to the right people.
So she said if you come near the funeral I'll shoot you myself. Fair enough.
It's hard though, being on smack your not really a real person. Just this shell just full of shit. But he couldn't be there.

heck no wonder he wasn’t invited.

Im enjoying this Covid Sepultura thing that they do everyday. But a lot of them aren't in English.
This one is though. It's interesting cause I always thought Sepultura did the best covers of anyone.

Hard to imagine sepultura with no cavelera’s.
They're f**king great! It's for the best. I love Igor heaps but the new guy is excellent.
I f**king hated Soulfly and everything Max did after he left. Just terrible.
So for the best they got to do their own thing. Andreas kicks arse too.

No really that metal related, but this story from the steel panther drummer about prince is pretty funny.

To have a Prince story in today's day and age is quite a point of bragging. Steel Panther drummer Stix Zadinia has a good story, but sadly, it's not one that paints Prince in a positive light. Then again, I'm sure Prince wouldn't mind.

Zadinia talked about a time before Steel Panther, when he was in a San Jose band, and came into contact with Prince. We'll let Stix take over from here, as he recently told Q104.3:

“I was in a band a long, long time ago. We were doing disco covers many years ago up in San Francisco. And Prince played at the ‘Shark Tank,’ which is the San Jose hockey arena. After his shows, he would find a club in a nearby city and he would go in. And his deal was, ‘Hey, I’m Prince. I’m gonna come play your club after hours. I’m gonna charge at the door and keep the door. You keep the bar.’ And the club goes, ‘Okay. Cool.’

“So word gets out. We were the house band — just kind of a no-name house band at the time. And Prince borrows our gear. Because he doesn’t wanna bring gear, and I understand it. So he goes on an hour late. We get kicked out of our own dressing room. Prince goes in there. You’re not allowed to look at Prince. But he plays the guitar, and then at the end, he holds the guitar up over his head and he drops it behind him onto the ground. And my guitar player is, like, ‘What the ****?’ Then he switches and he plays bass. And after the song, he takes the bass and he sets it diagonally on the floor and the drum riser, so it’s just at an angle. And he takes his little tiny Prince foot and he [breaks] the neck.

“At the end of the show, we came up to his manager and his entourage, and we go, ‘Dude, what is the deal?’ And the manager flips our guitar player. He goes, ‘Here’s a hundred bucks.’ And he gives our bass player another hundred bucks. He goes, ‘Here you go. Go get it fixed, guys.’ And they left. And we were just standing there… It was some serious assholery going on.”

I'd say this seems totally like something Prince would do.

That's a sick Prince story.
Why would you go and just snap someone else's bass haha
