You have to admit though, metal has the biggest nerd-following of any music genre.

Like, even polka or jazz fans are generally cooler than metal fans.

I don't know about jazz and polka fans but I think the main reason many metal fans seem a bit nerdy is because you have to look pretty hard to actually find good metal so people only really tend to be into it if they're really passionate about it. Like if pub rock (or anything really) was as underground as death and black metal then there'd be far less people into pub rock but they'd all be way more into it. Thats my theory anyway.

Yeah, there were geeks galore at the Iron Maiden gig early last year. I don't give a shit though - they like the music, more power to 'em! What pisses me off is f*cking Pink getting a billion shows here and Maiden getting two.
