Seriously. What a fool.

He hasn't had his egotistical fat head in the papers in recent weeks so to make a comment like that is just poor form and immature. Good to see that Smorgon and Maguire backed us up and didn't feel the need to resort to ridiculous comments such as that.

I don't rate our chances against the Hawks this week, but this is just so much more added incentive after a big week for the club parting with our greatest player ever.

Jeff, get off the turps you old codger smackhead:thumbsd:

He's an absolute flog. And I hope his views as president don't reflect that of the club he represents. Seriously if I was a Hawks supporter I would be absolutey embarrassed by recent behaivour of key figures in their club e.g. Mark Williams. I know there on the way up but have they won anything yet? Even so what gives him the right to making daming judgements liek that.
Im fuming

I'll admit, they are a fantastic football team and their stability on and off the field is something to be in awe of, however it's just really immature of Kennett.

The game needs less shit stirrers like him

I've said all I wanted to say on the main board. Nothing against the Hawks, but Kennett is a prick.

I don't know the context of what he said (besides what I heard on TFS), but it's just uncalled for, unnecessary and probably doesn't reflect the opinions of 99% of Hawthorn fans.

We were in a similar position ourselves in 97 and were able to claw our way back from that. As the President of a club who did just that, Jeff should be encouraging other clubs who are now in the same predicament to do the same, not abandon all hope and shift elsewhere.

i have read a couple of your posts and you make the other hawks posters look good :thumbsu: keep it up

He is a ____ing ____.
I hate the man.

But honestly Dees, if the fight started now, 8 of the other 9 Victorian clubs would be behind you.

What sort of moron would tell the club his side is playing against that weekend to relocate?

I don't think I'm alone in saying I would dearly love it if you guys got up on Sunday.

He's a w***er but only making a win more desirable on Sunday so he can shove it up his fat ass. Doubt it'll happen but it'd be nice.

I logged onto Big Footy this morning expecting to see the board go into meltdown over Kennett's outrageous comments last night. I'm staggered that there are so few posts by melbourne supporters.

What does this reflect;
  • Agreement with Kennett?
  • Lack of passion?
  • You simply feel like beaten dogs this season?
The views of such a tosser should generate a response from Melbourne supporters, the club and its players. Start by all turning up to this week's game, refer to Kennett on the banner, give the hawks the fright of their lives onfield, address it at the post-game press conference....make a statement!!!! FYI, I remember John Elliott making disparaging remarks about our club. We then came out and gave their club a flogging that weekend. Fond memories of the chant that went around the ground that day..."Elliott's a w***er". Juvenile I know but it was satisfying....came through beautifully over the TV.:D

Have you read the main board? Melbourne fans have been all over it on there. We don't agree, we have lots of passion and we don't feel like beaten dogs. Douche.

Sorry on behalf of Hawk fans. Jeff's an idiot sometimes and needs to realise that he's not premier anymore and running the whole world.

You're best just ignoring his comments as they don't hold much weight after outlandish outburst after outburst.

Good luck on the weekend. We're gonna win for "OLD" Lukey McCabe

He's such an idiot , just because the hawks have had a good start to the year he thinks he can say whatever he wants. I really wished we had the ability to beat the hawks, for Neitas sake and also so we can shut the man up. But unfortunately i dont see us winning. Damn!

No one's having a go at Hawk supporters here except one who agree with Jeff lol. I mean imagine if Paul Gardiner said as much as 'Hawks are struggling on and off the field they should move to Tasmania or DIE". It's just inappropriate and not his place.

The thing the pisses me off most about kennett is that he was to gutless to have his opinion filmed by channel 9. If you want to bash clubs and have an opinion the least you can do is have enough balls to face a camera and say what you want.

OTHERWISE JUST SHUT THE ____ UP YOU WEAK BITCH

Get off your high bloody horse you moron Kennett.
10 years ago your club was in the exact same position and your president at the time did all the dirty work and work tirelessly to get the hawks where they are today. The hawks spent a while at the bottom of the ladder not long ago and Kennett comes into Hawthorn at a fortunate time and thinks he is god himself.

Get a clue you pig Kennett and know your place in the footy world.
Melbourne will never move and will be better and stonger from these comments..
Thank you Kennett, you have no idea what you have just opened up.

Go you Melbourne Demons!!!!

I wouldn't post on the main board because it's full of people who are massive *******s.

LOL!!!

Kennett is a moron, he is a moron now, he was when he was stuffing up this state as premier. Nothing changes.

Couldnt have said it better myself. As a Hawk supporter, you cringe every time he opens his mouth hoping we won't have to go in to damage control. However he is a politician and they are genetically programmed to say some stupid things more often than not.

Don't kill me for asking, but isn't he essentially saying the Melbourne FC should go north because with the draft changes (due to two new clubs) it'll be nearly impossible to rebuild as the Hawks did over the next 10 years?

I wasn't there, so I can only surmise, but if you read the Age article, its got a hell of a lot less hyperbole than the Herald Sun version (surprise, surprise).

Personally I think his timing is attrocious, and I wonder whether there's more simmering between the two clubs than most of us now, with the recent spying attempts and claims by Gardiner that our profits are disengenuous? I still don't think baiting your opposition the week before a match is the right thing to do, but Jeffery seems to revel in it.

I hope you don't take the comments the wrong way, interested in a genuine debate about his intentions with the comments (assuming he wasn't just starting something for no reason). He appeared to answer a question in response to what Stynes should do, but also premeditated the statement as he asked not to be filmed earlier?

Could this actually benefit Melbourne.

Like him or loathe him, but the comments will probably add another 10-15000 fans to the game on Sunday?

Got no problems with Mark Williams. Storm in a tea cup.

As for Jeff, should have kept his mouth shut. He is entitled to his opinion of course, but a little diplomacy should have been exercised.

Good luck for Sunday guys. I hope it's a good hard clash.
