Official Club Stuff MFC Volunteers needed!

Several of us are running a membership volunteer phoning program at the clubs office (southern stand) & we are looking to broadcast for volunteers.

This will be an evening deal, helping out by calling lapsed members and renewing them. Hit him up on the email above if you can help out at all.

IIRC it's only a couple of hours commitment and you get to go in to the club offices which is pretty snazzy!!

The club has asked us to assist with our D2D** activity again this year.

If you want to help the club you can assist by:

++ Offering yourself as a volunteer for evening work at the club offices
++ Onforwarding this opportunity to other supporters.

We need 20 new supporters to make this work. Training & support is provided.

A great opportunity to get inside the club.

I am nineteen46 - yep with seniors card - and a group of us go into the club Mondays & Tuesday nights & 'hot seat' the staff's phones & desks.

We ring mainly last years members ... in this fashion " Hi I am Geoff & a volunteer for the MFC. A quick call re the membership U had with the club last year as we are keen to get U on board again. If yes, do you want the same as last year etc etc"
These people react to a call from the club in a fashion that you can relate to - so its easy & smooth.

We have been running for 2 weeks ( 155 sign ups & the phones go hot the next day = 300+ members) & will continue Mon & Tuesday night into June. (Easter Monday will be replaced with the Wed)
Any time with in 5.30 - 8pm is appreciated.

Stephie Powell made the effort to come in last evening & signed up - he is avid Melbourne & gets to games.

Format is that you can get a park under the Southern stand BEFORE 6pm {Brunton Ave Gate E] & walk in entry is via gate A [50 metres around towards the city end]. Lift 14 takes you to Level 3 & 'follow the signs'.

Volunteer thru me Geoff/19 wadeallen1@bigpond.com 0432 900 907 & any queries to Tom, Jane or Fi in Membership on 9652 1111. Keep that number as a back up for your first entry. This is really working & these guys would welcome a call from a 'pending' volunteer.

First post...

From someone who has done this for a few years now, I can definitely say it is a lot of fun. A good positive buzz around the office and the other volunteers gives you a real feeling of belonging to our club, being right amongst it, and at the same time knowing you are really contributing in good times and not as good (cup being half full...).

Hope to see some more Demons joining us soon!!

The mngmt have requests that we leave as many messages as possible when hitting answering machines.
Our messages drive up the calls inbound over the rest of the week & are creating a real moral boost ij the membership team. C U there Geoff

44 sign ups from 9 volunteers. Tx team - we are developing a strong community.

We seemed to be locked into this 40+ figure. Nice if we could crack 50 tomorrow (Tuesday) night & set fresh standards. Lets see!!!!

Need a bit of help!!! Appreciate u geography & life style may not be a fit, but we are after referrals.

We are doing 2 nights a week phoning from the Southern stand offices.

This could be a very powerful program for the long term AND REALLY MAKE A DIFFERENCE.


We have totalled 17 volunteers, so far, who could make it into the offices in the last 3 weeks.

Net result is we are averaging 9 volunteers per night.

IF we can turn 17 'availables' into 30+ then we will be able to cover the clubs 15 lines each night.

We are currently writing up an average of 41 per night & this will improve as we settled the system.

With 15 volunteers per night we will soon top the ton (100 per night).

The club gets busy the next day & 15 lines in use might just push membership into a frenzy.


Any supporter U know is ideal to receive a copy of this as they may be able to assist, or refer on to other Demons.

Lets get a few more Demons into the picture by networking this, please. COPY & SEND.
