Stephon Marbury apparently declined an offer from the heat.. WHAT AN IDIOT!

In a nutshell, he thinks he's too good for the heat.

why would u want sum1 who eats vaseline on your team lmao but i don't think he did turn it down going by this story.

Stephon Marbury told the New York Post on Sunday that he didn't turn down a chance to play for the Heat.
In fact, Marbury still hasn't given up hope on playing for Miami.
Marbury said a Chinese reporter mixed up the translation of his remarks and that it was falsely reported he had rejected an offer from the Heat.
He told the Post that Miami contacted him in early July before LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh joined forces. The Heat told him they would get back to him after "they handled all the things they had to handle."
"It's total nonsense, why would I turn down a chance to play for the Miami Heat?" Marbury said. "The report was a fabrication."
Marbury's point to the Chinese journalist was that a point guard is not essential on the team because James and Wade handle the ball so much.
"What I was saying was I wouldn't be making a major difference with those guys because they have great players," Marbury said.
"I'd just be filling a smaller role. Miami was considering bringing me there. They told me they'd get back to me. I haven't heard back."

i can't wait to see them crash and burn. but this is coming from a lebron hater:P i was stoked bosh joined with dwade, but when lebron said he was going to south beach as well, my hate for miami started. lakers for three-peat!

looking forward to some spirited discussions with other heat fans. Here's hoping this is a good seasons for us, because the last four seasons have been pretty painful to watch.

Haters gonna hate. Winners gonna win.
Second one is us :p

Nah but seriously, if we don't win the title next season everyone will come out and say that we won't win a title at all and say how we failed when really it won't come immediately.

I don't think u guys will win it next year. I think it will take a while before u guys start playing as a team but u guys will still make the finals just get taken down by my lakers :) but after next year i think u guys will win like 2 or 3 ina row i hope not tho.

Ahhhh... I smell the naiveness already!! :p lol just playin..

You can't say they won't be able to play basketball well together.. All three guys did play ball together for US afterall, Obviously they already work well together enough to win a gold medal in the olympics ..

People will hate the heat, they really shouldn't... but afterall all three desperately WANTED to play together, and that is that. Whether at the Heat or Chicago or New York.etc they wanted to play together.. For a few delicate reasons they all chose to goto miami....

I'll agree Lebron's a dick for making his decision on live television, no doubt! That probably fuelled most the hate ultimately, but that should all be water under the bridge by the end of the year, otherwise ex 'bron fans will just be labeled as sore losers.

Anyway, TBH, I feel really weird this year, only 3 main heat players stayed (Wade, Haslem, Chalmers).. I was so used to following up on players like Wright, Cook and Beasley every season.. It'll be weird watching them pull on a new jersey.. I feel a little broken hearted :(

Lebron was a dick for how he told the world were he was going, but it sucks i enjoy the lakers being the most hated team, but now it's the heat. The only team that can beat the heat is the lakers, you guys will get killed in the post by gasol, bynum and odom but it's going to be fun to watch. I do agree with u about them playing well together has much as i would love for them not to lol your right they did play well together at the olympics.

Heat signed Shavlik Randolph and Kenny Hasbrouck..

Got nothing to say bout shavlik, probz wont even get a minute on court this season.

Kenny though, has had a pretty decent offseason. Clearly best player from the heat summer league list.

We open our season on Wednesday October 27 (Australian time) against the Celtics. Live on TNT and Channel One HD (im guessing?).

October 30th our time - Orlando at Miami on ESPN

December 26 our time - Heat at Lakers on ABc.

Any word on the first Cavs clash??

Will be interesting if the Celts add Shaq - bigs to the tune of Garnett, O'Neal, Shaq and Davis (maybe even Rasheed?) might really stretch the Heat.

shaq lining up against lebron

shaq will rip out some pearlers hopefully in the lead up

Well the heat currently have:

Joel Anthony
Zydrunas Ilgauskas
Jamaal Magloire
Dexter Pittman

all options at center, not including the depth at PF:

Chris Bosh
Udonis Haslem
Juwan Howard
Shavlik Randolph

Not so much depth, but we have a lot of option!

Yeah I agree, when I look at the roster it just seems so weird, the familiar faces just wont be there anymore.

The Heat actually re-signed more free agents than pretty much anyone else this year I believe. Wade, Haslem, Arroyo, Magloire and Jones all brought back along with Anthony and Chalmers already under contract.

I think Bosh and LeBron will probably help me forget the golden days of Dorrell Wright and Mike Beasley....but that's just me.

Eddie House is also back...and we DID try and pay Juwan Howard $100 million back in the 90s.

It's like a Good Ol' Boy Reunion really.. ;)
