Why?

Micallef rocks nuthing will top his tribute to the spiders that lost there lives when the shuttle crashed.

Micalef easily smashes 'Mother friendly Rove'. And Micalef doesn't have 3 hacks alongside him ala those knobs that appear in '****house'.
 
Rove is without doubt the best. Micallef comes across as fake and seems to not have the slightest idea what's going on, He hasn't had any real big names on his shows, if that's what you watch these types of shows for and finally Rove is a local so he's got my support all the way.
 
Shaun Micallef is brilliant.
Always has been.

At least he doesn't have to explain his jokes to the audience like Rove when he does his "stand up" and the audience hardly laughs.

Rove is a hack.
At least Shaun is fresh and willing to push the envelope and try new things. Rove Live is predicatble and boring. Can't believe he is still doing 'What The'. He has done it for years, here's a tip, TRY SOMETHING NEW YOUR UNORIGINAL $#^*!

It's no wonder Rove's ratings have dropped significantly since last year.
 
The world is clearly ****ed up if people start saying that Rove is better than Micallef. You see, Rove isn't funny at all; he has little or no talent for comedy, his jokes are so unfunny that he makes Fergusion look funny or maybe he tries too hard? That said, Rove is an unfunny little geek. Micalef has more comedic talent in his pinkie toe than Rove ever had.

Seriously, who gives a heck if Rove has "better" guests on his show? You all have to remember that when Rove and The Panel started, they all had low-profile guests. Give Micalef a little bit of time... as the show gains more popularity, he'll have "better guests" for people who watch the show just to see them. What makes the show good is the COMEDY - and Rove fails in this regard.

Micallef anyday. Good on Rove for what he has achieved, but to compare him and his show to Micallef and his show is stupid. Rove being a local has NOTHING to do with him being better (or not in my case). It's how the show is set up and how funny it is that counts, not which show has the "better guests". You might have a "Matthew Lloyd" like high-profile guest on Rove, and a smart, witty and funny low-profile guest on Micallef? How do you define "better" anyway? Popularity? Quality? Or people that think Rove is funny?

Give me a break.

The logies is simply a popularity contest. Didn't you know that? Well, what would you expect from people who buy TV Week? Who here buys that anyway? The Herald Sun or the Green Guide is enough to tell me what's on.
 
Shaun by a mile. Rove is a direct heir to Darryl Somers while Micaleff is a heir to Graham Kennedy.

I like that he lets the audience in on the fact that the whole idea of celebrity-based television is an absolute crock. Also that he is prepared to bite the hand that feeds him.

I loved when he closed this weeks show by suggesting that people could donate to the, I'll Leave Bradman's Cap Where It Is And Give My Money To World Vision Instead Appeal.

That said there is every chance that guests will avoid his show like the plague because they will be frightened of being made to look stupid. Shame it is up against Denton.

yes i know that!
but a lot of people out there must like his show if he won the logies.
just because a few people on the internet don't like rove and don't think that he's funny doesn't neccesarily make it true.

havent watched the micallef show yet...

but from his full frontal days... micallef easily !

rove is just plain unfunny...
watching his opening stand up bit is just excruciating...

but... denton sh*ts on both of these fools...
 
I don't know how people can watch Rove. I find it quite painful, especially when he's doing one of his ****ful interviews.

Oh dear. You really don't get it, do you? It's all part of the Micallef humour.

Micallef is quite a clever comedian. Rove is just mediocre.

No, Obviously you miss the point of what I was trying to say or maybe it just came across wrong. It's easy to see it's part of his humor like in the ads where the camera hangs on him for that extra second and he starts to look around with a confused look.
By comes across as fake what I meant to say is it's plain to see he is reading written comedy. Of course don't get me wrong I'm not naive enough to think Rove writes his own jokes or doesn't use cue cards but isn't the point of comedy to make everything seem unpredictable, as if the person making, or as the case may be trying to make the joke, has just come up with it on the spot?

Anyway it's just my opinion I enjoy Rove's show and always have I'm sure many of you who think he's a little "geek" used to watch him and enjoy the show as well. Of course none of you would admit to it now but I'm sure there's a few among all you anti-Rove people.

To finish it is my honest opinion that this time next year Micallef won't have a show anymore. I'm not saying Rove will either, the style of show must be hard to keep fresh and exciting, even Letterman which I have been watching for years gets beyond the point of boring at times. I prefer to watch Crossing Jordan than Rove these days and as someone already mentioned Micallef's show is up against Denton's but if I had to choose between Rove and Micallef I'd back Rove all the way.
