Round 3 to 5 AFL return after a few games in the WAFL.

It's just like a handicap start for Micky B to give everyone else an even chance at the Brownlow. If he had a full season he would be too much of a Monty for the Bookies.

For those who heard the interview, could you fill us in on what he said

Cheers

From what I remember...Harvey mentioned these players....

BARLOW - Plate removed 10th Jan, has or is just about to start running indoors again (treadmill)...didn't rule out Round 1 but didn't sound overly confident. Predicted a month or so into the season? At a guess...Rnd 4-8 anywhere inbetween.

PITT - When asked if he would play Nab. Harvey pretty much said no, not ready

MECHIE, MELLINGTON - Had been training well & a chance to be seen in Nab

ANTHONY - Will play Nab

MZUNGU - Harv's very impressed...he will play Nab

SANDILANDS - Training well...will have very light duties until Rnd 1

FAULKS - Will play Nab

GRIFFIN, CLARKE - Likely to be given bigger roles during Nab

HAYDEN - Off crutches next week & he thought Roger would be back playing Round 5-6!

HOUGHTON - Break was in wrist area, not as bad as 1st thought...he is in a cast, can do all fitness, but will be back full training 5-6 weeks

IBBOTSON - When asked who would take a larger role in covering Morabito's absence, Harvs said Ibbo looks good & learnt alot on Irish trip

PALMER - Training the house down & fit & ready

No mention of Walters or Ballantyne

Thanks Plugga, great for us who don't get the chance to listen to the radio. VERY happy with the Hayden prognosis! He's just what we need and could really inject some extra skill into the defense, look forward to him getting back on the track. Also very happy with the Ibbo and Palmer write-ups, they can very adequately cover the loss of Mora and Barlow for the time he's out. A fit and firing Palmer is effectively a new player and Ibbo has always been impressive, always had the skills, now it looks like the desire is there as well :thumbsu:

If the timing is roughly accurate, it probably works out well ... maybe Rd 4 for a "warm-up" game vs North, then we really need him for Rd 5 vs Dogs at home, a massive game for us. Then he gets a bye to rest a bit and see how his leg has pulled up.

Still, wouldn't mind playing it safe and waiting a bit longer. Round 12 vs Essendon, followed by games vs Melb, Bris, GC & the bye ... thatwould be a nice way to ease himself into it.

I think North may be okay this year. Not as big a game as Foot-er-scray, but they could do alright I think.
