He's a very generic midfielder who's use of the ball leaves a lot to be desired. He's also getting older these days and will only be of use as a depth player when we have no other options available.

I would like a Royal Commission into how Miachael Doughty is still getting an AFL gig

I agree with the op. Stop being so negative. He is an ok player, workmanlike, tries, no champion but solid. I'd agree a little lucky to survive but we've had many, many worse players (check the list on the shed entrance wall)

It's the best 22 for a reason, its not the "trying hardest" 22

We cant afford to carry late 20s mediocre triers with no upside anymore. Thats all Doughty is, we are now going to rebuild. Rather have Symes in the side than Doughty.

Symes will not be a back up run with player for Shirley and van Berlo. So Doughty WILL get games next year, regardless of those on here thinking he has no talent or use to the side, the coaching staff believe otherwise.
