Michael Evans 2011 Review:
Todd Viney said:
Michael is a rookie who made his AFL debut this year. He was hampered by a hip injury, which he carried for most of the year, but he has had that operated on now. He is a really good inside midfielder. Michael runs hard, spreads well and wins plenty of the footy, so we were really happy with his season.

Just a little note, I thought the emergence of Evans and Nicholson was a big plus from this year. Before he copped a couple of injuries Evans had a very very good year for a first-time rookie and has more than earned a second chance. Looking forward to seeing him take another step up next year.

MFC: Evans promoted to senior list

ROOKIE Michael Evans has been elevated to the senior list with key forward Mitch Clark placed on the long-term injury list.

The Demons made the elevation on Thursday.

Evans has been named an emergency for Saturday’s clash against St Kilda at the MCG.

MFC: Pre-season update: Grimes to Tapscott

32. Michael Evans
Michael missed most of the 2012 season with a back injury, so he hasn’t done a lot of the training with the main group pre-Christmas. But he has been one of the leaders in the rehabilitation program and has just started getting back into the main group. We’re really looking forward to Michael being back into football training post-Christmas.

MFC: Upgraded Evans eager to repay faith
“I was very grateful to the club – firstly that they think I’m good enough to play senior footy, but secondly that they’ve got the confidence in me that I can get over it (the injuries),” he told melbournefc.com.au.

“So that’s very positive for me.

“It gave me a boost knowing that they did want to keep me. Now it’s more about repaying their faith and playing good footy going forward.”
So obviously these back injuries and such are still niggling, but coming along quite nicely.

Hopefully we see a bit of him in red and blue this year.
