Not quite ready to jump back on the Johnson bandwagon yet, if he can string a few good games together...I'm back!

Of the guys who should have been stepping up this year (Peake, Crowley, Johnson and Mundy) I still think that Mundy has shown the most.

Mundy has only been good in 1 game

Peake has been good most games

Crowley and Johno have both been down on form until this week.

He had a serviceable game, but he needs to stop playing AFL 2009 on Playstation 3 and actually train. His thin floppy arms and stick legs are embarrassing, as are Mundys. The least we should expect out of our players is serviceable, says a lot when serviceable performances get a big mention on here doesn't it?

I would prefer Kepler as a forward instead of Murphy.

Except Kepler has little confidence and seems to be affected having shots on goals more than most, like Tarrant. If you could have the enthusiasm of Kepler with the kicking of Murphy you would be set. Saw Murphy actually running like a jog when he was on a lead, was hilarious, and was only 1m in front of his opponent. Has no pace.

Kep needs to hope Campbell gets a call up and then work on being a KP forward for the might Cardies.

Interesting to see that Harvey believes that all games are so athletically hard now that at 3/4 time most teams are out on their feet and gut run the last.

A lot of clubs now are going 1 ruck and using the extra space for another mid/runner.

To me if MJ can pony up as that back up - it means a number of things ...Kep can focus on a position and that position has to be as a tall marking/goal kicking forward, Gilmore becomes uneccessary and so we free up a place on the list. Plus am I the only one that think Clarke has some good attributes to start life as a KP forward (plus god forbid if Sandi did go down there is a ruckman on the list).

So to me Sandi 1st ruck, MJ back up and then we burn that other spot on a runner in De Boer or runner/goal sneek in Walters or alternatively we use this year to get half a dozen games into Clarke via the bench-forward line - forward half rucking.

I know it's not saying a lot but MJ has been amongst our best players in every game bar the one against Essendon. Even then he was far from the worst. I don't think you can say that about any of the other top echelon players at the club so far.
It's pretty hard to see what one trick pony Murphy's role is. So yes - Walters could add something that we haven't really got at the moment. Alternatively the inclusion of Clarke would allow MJ to concentrate on the other half dozen roles he plays. I wouldn't expect to get many games out of Clarke though this season.

I'm the first to admit that Peake has certainly shown his knockers something, however I still think his influence on games isn't quite at Mundy's level. He seems to float in and out of the play.

Crowley has been atrocious until this week and as I said Jono definitely had a good week.

Mundy while at times looking uninterested has still deserved his spot each week.

Jono and Crowley were probably staring down the barrel of being dropped had they put in another poor performance.

Peake has been fantastic ...in the Bullies game - if the delivery had on been anywhere approaching reasonable he would of kicked a bag.

Works very hard to keep the ball in too.

Jonno had
Rd 3 - 26 Disp 9 Marks V Adelaide
Rd 4 - 24 Disp 7 Marks V Saints
so I doubt he was looking at being dropped to the 2's
He had 14 possies in each of his first 2 games so yes he started slow but he's been getting better as the year goes on.

I suppose putting it in dispoals like that he wasn't in the firing line...However during our poor first four weeks he seemed to be one of the first to string to mind when I thought about how poor our side had become.

Crowley has struggled, I stand by that.

Though I still think that Mundy has been the standout as far as improvement goes.

These are the guys that must now carry this club and ultimately they are the ones that will cop the critism (50-150 game players).
