7 years since he graced the NBA courts, and 12 years since his final game with the Chicago Bulls.

Share you favorite Michael moments

My favorite memory would be 'The Last Shot' against Utah. The pose after release.

Game 2 v Lakers 1991 finals

13 field goals hit in a row witht he last one being his switch from right hand dunk to left hand lay up.

The guy was on fire and then capped the streak off with his greatest move.

His most overrated move more like it. Brandon Roy does it a half-dozen times per season, for starters.

An example of a much better move:

fixed.

When he sported a Hitler mustache in a Hanes commercial.

Add to that every time the NBA changed a rule that was designed for Jordan to succeed making him the first NBA superstar that the league had to change rules to benefit the star rather than to try and stop like they had in the past (Chamberlain, Russell, etc, etc.).

Greatest ever? Perhaps to the media and those who really have no idea about the game of basketball.

You want the greatest ever? Go watch some Bill Russell. Let the rings do the talking.

See an uneducated modern NBA fan's argument to Jordan not being the best when someone brings up Russell is to point out Adam Morrison having two rings.

Exactly how many of those was he the catalyst to?

Jordan was a media machine. Nothing less, nothing more.

The Bulls playoff run in 1989, Jordan was spectacular. For starters, the buzzer beater against the Cavs in the deciding game. But then the first 5 minutes of Game 6 of the Conference Finals against the Pistons. Bulls were down 3 games to 2, needing to win in Chicago to force game 7 in Detroit. They end up losing the game, but Jordan came out of the blocks that night like nothing else.

The other moment that comes to mind is the first hald of Game 1 of the 1992 Finals against Portland. 35 points, including 6 3-pointers in one half.

And yeah, even as a Knick fan, I can admit, the dunk over Ewing is probably the greatest dunk ever. Just a masterpiece.

So what if Roy does it in 2010? Who was doing it in 1991? The Ferrari F40 is faster than the classic 1959 Ferrari 250 California Spyder, does that make it a better car? Of course not.

Child please. This thread has nothing to do with anyone being the 'greatest ever'. You're the only person to use that phrase.

As for the Russell comments, are you 60? How many Russell Games did you watch? Don't go around pulling this 'watch Bill Russell' rubbish if you weren't around to see him live.

On the matter of 'greatest ever', its entirely everyones opinion, but to argue that the amount of rings a player has makes him a better player is poor, and if you're going to make it you must accept that Morrison is better than a lot of great players who do not have 2 rings.
