Andy Maher just said the person who sent the msg is a senior executive and known to the club. Said he should be exposed to who it is.

It was a senior executiveIt's the sort of thing a 14 year old with his first phone would do.
I'm not condoning anyone sending death threats to a footy coach after having a bad season, but it's a pretty juvenile act.

Is that for bloody real? A senior executive sent a threat to Vossy? Surely not. People find more ways to floor me every day.Andy Maher just said the person who sent the msg is a senior executive and known to the club. Said he should be exposed to who it is.
He’d have to be an idiot of the highest order … I hope these players get behind Voss tomorrow night and play out of their skins for their coach …High profile supporter?
Great speech by Vossy. If the players cant get inspired by that **** them. I feel sorry for Voss and the way the Club has treated him. Sack the board.
I think gambling is a huge factor in fans, punters getting angry. Maybe a solution if we identify the culprit is for the AFL who work with gambling companies to totally ban fans all together?I have a friend (not a carlton supporter) who likes to place bets on games.
Few weeks ago when we beat west coast and Charlie kicked a goal (only 1 for the match) he got 1.46 back on his $100.
He was over the moon.
He placed a similar bet when we played the kangaroos but this time he placed $500 (to get back $1000) for blues to win and charlie to kick 2 goals - we obviously lost and Charlie didn't kick a goal so he lost his money.
He was absolutely livid.
No excuse for this sort of behaviour but I can only imagine some of the outrage is/may or even partially be motivated through losing bets. Maybe big bets.
Sorry for intrusion but this was exactly my thinking. One of the toughest buggers to pull on the jumper. We can be critical of what is happening without making it personal, not one of these ****wits would have the balls to go up to Vossy in the street because he would maul them. Hopefully they are identified and publicly shamed and banned from attending AFL for life.
Senior executive of what? Not the club or the AFL I assume? It was a senior executive
And egos - every rich idiot falls out of their career thinking they know more about football than anyone else.... Become directors and inject themselves everywhere... Or.get rejected and become slimy detractors.I think gambling is a huge factor in fans, punters getting angry. I have seen personally the number of abusive posts to tennis players after losing matches and it has been a regular occurrence in AFL too.
You would hope if they were tied to our club they would have been sacked immediately and hopefully had their info passed onto policeSenior executive of what? Not the club or the AFL I assume?
The gambling business is a big business, you have people betting not in the hundreds but potentially thousands and ten thousands of dollars on the sport. And egos - every rich idiot falls out of their career thinking they know more about football than anyone else.... Sad.
I’m not quite sure but Andy Maher made it out that person is well known.Senior executive of what? Not the club or the AFL I assume?
They haven't given him any support. Even with the threats that came in, the higher aboves are silent. Hes the coach but hes not the club. The board and club have backed Voss in at every turn, regardless of performance. This doesn’t make any sense to me.
Yeah mate, the bloke put 10k on the Blues to beat the Pies. The gambling business is a big business, you have people betting not in the hundreds but potentially thousands and ten thousands of dollars on the sport.
It would not surprise me one iota that the person who sent the message may have lost a bet and vented his frustration at Voss. When the AFL is in bed with sports betting companies, it can only create these troubles.
If you support a footy team you have every dissapointed after a loss. But if what I am reading the nature of a death threat, that reflects poorly on the person who sent that and I hope the AFL and integrity unit can identify the individual/perpertarors.
You would be surprised how much emotional toll players on the tennis circuit and the abuse every female tennis player that goes onto lose any tennis match - especially on Instagram after a loss.Yeah mate, the bloke put 10k on the Blues to beat the Pies.
Zero chance it's got this much traction if it was just someone losing a bet.
No doubt there are idiots out there that abuse athlete because of losing bets. Not sure the long winded betting theory is required when no mention of it at all.You would be surprised how much emotional toll players on the tennis circuit and the abuse every female tennis player that goes onto lose any tennis match - especially on Instagram after a loss.
Google 'losing bets" and "_______(insert female tennis player name)". Some of the abuse is absolutely vile.
I Just want to show my love to Michael Voss and his family in these tough times. Irrespective of how well he is coaching, no one deserves that . But as sad as we may believe - there are some lunatics in society.
Reported to the hotline or actually delivered via the hotline?![]()
'You don't belong here': Voss lashes angry fans over threatening message
Carlton coach Michael Voss delivers a stinging take-down after being the subject of a threatening message left on the MCG's anti-social hotline service during the Blues' loss to Collingwood.www.abc.net.au
The fact that it was reported to the MCG anti social hotline, Im gathering the comment was made at the ground. Lets hope that the fan who reported to the MCG hotline , had some evidence to pass it on to the right authorities.
