I think some of the posts on here about Collingwood supporters is a bit much. This former Collingwood member is in the minority of scumbag Collingwood supporters. Just like all those Carlton supporters, who verbally abused our players after a game in 2023, are part of a minority of scumbag Carlton supporters.
So - you're continuing to abuse Carlton supporters.

As reported by the Herald Sun, the message sent during the Blues’ loss to the Magpies last Friday night stated the following:
"I'd like to report 23 missing persons and pre-emptively report the murder of Michael Voss."

So the message was more of a poor attempt at humour than a death threat.

Would have been arrested if they thought it was a serious threat. Regardless, you just cannot be stupid enough to write that. Sounds terrible

I agree about the stupidity, but it's still a massive media click bait attempt.

was the report that it came from a Collingwood member only known today? if so, the media coverage was somewhat misleading; it was coverage that it was coming from a Blues supporter.

It's the absolute hypocrisy mate. If you're going to throw shit at our supporter base for this, then be prepared to take it when it comes back to kick you in the arse.

Had a quick look at the filth board...and now the alleged message has been released, they're all saying "storm in a teacup" and "snowflakes". Absolute cretins.

Not sure about the wording of this one lol.

I said “minority” to make the point that every club has abusive supporters. Even our club believe it or not.

Can we all take a chill pill.
It wasn’t a death threat, it was a sledge.
The outrage is actually outrageous!
Interesting, what if the authorities had taken it as a sledge and something actually happened to Voss?

They had to err on the side of caution when they received that message. They had no choice.

It was an attempt at humour. He was suggesting that Carlton fans would do away with Voss, and wasn't threatening Voss as such.

The fact that it was a text to the ground hotline, only confirms this for me. It's like those government hotlines encouraging people to dob in others for silly things, and they get flooded with nonsense messages.

The media has certainly built this up. Vossy's life was not threatened.

If you substituted the word murder with sacking - it would be much line up with sentiments expressed on here ....in fact I lighter and funnier version of som eposts Ive read...and certainly less inflammatory than some of the carryon we have seen from Carlton supporters live at grounds...

of course given the bloke is a Collingwooder - 10 years in GOAL minimum! 😂

Hint…..”I’d like to report 23 missing persons “ which is clearly a joke would probably alert a reasonable person that it wasn’t a valid threat.
It was as someone trying to be a smartarse, that is all.

Not only has the media built it up, but so have many on this thread.
So thin skinned…just like our side recently

Sure - now.

But, again, the authorities had a responsibility upon receipt of the message, which talks about the murder of Voss, to take it seriously.

I'm not sure why you would even question that.

Cmon, it was clearly a joke/prank/sledge whatever.
My god I’ve seen more offensive stuff written on these boards about Pies fans than that message.

Now if the message said Voss better watch his back leaving the ground or something like that, then I would understand the reaction.
This is just way over the top.

I wonder how many people have jokingly referred to a bomb in their luggage when walking through an airport. Of course the words used gain attention as they are sinister in the right context. It's risky humour, but paired with the missing person component, it's pretty obvious.

It kind of feels like it's being used as a deflection now.

Surprised it hasnt been twisted into being his own fault yet.

But it was twisted into this forum being toxic and being partly responsible.

But suddenly, our performance is no longer an issue, so the club won't be too unhappy.

Sounds exactly like something Hughesy would say about the Blues.

Jokes with Hyperbole are now subject to 5 year ban.

No asking for heads on plates people!

Where did it all go wrong?
