The club took time to realise what many of us have known for two years or so

Which is ratten doesn't have the structures or game style to win us a flag

The beauty of his appointment is one way or the other we will find out if this side can win a flag, mm great strength is extracting the best out of each player and his game structures are always industry leading

We should back those who originally favoured Crazy Vossy as coach?

The board who appointed Ratten for two years before they promptly sacked him after a year. They've poured $500,000 down the drain.

The game's changed since Malthouse's Pies upped the ante by copying St Kilda's defensive press.

We already play the boundary line, so Mick should feel right at home.

Unless we develop a KPF or recruit one, then appointing Malthouse could ultimately be in vain.

Even though I like rangas, Julia Gillard is a muppet and the worst PM in the last fifty years. Nearly lost the unloseable election after knifing Rudd. If Julia was Carlton coach, she would have been sent packing earlier than Ratten. The government are a rabble. Anyone who disagrees is biased and has their head in the sand. You shouldn't favour either party.

That doesn't make the Coalition a better alternative though, as you implied.

If people vote for them because "they couldn't be any worse", then they get what they deserve.

I'll be waiting to see what each side offers in the way of policy. That's what anyone with half a brain should do.

At the moment, the Coalition's main policy is to undo most of what Labor has implemented. They've got to do better than that, for me at least.

And when Abbott gets pinned down to specifics, as Leigh Sales did to him the other night, he is pretty well useless.

"Every side outside the eight has a reason for being outside the eight and I think it's a deficiency in some capacity," he said.

"Carlton would be no exception. They would be looking at bolstering their playing list.

"Perhaps key forward or key back. They're not that flash on the back line for start off."

"It would be neglectful to presume this is just going to take place. I would need to through a number of issues to convince myself they're (Carlton) the right fit," Malthouse said.

Malthouse said he was determined to honour a commitment to accompany his daughter on a book-launch tour of Australia in late October through to November and also a week-long family holiday later in the year.

Malthouse said he would take in to consideration the impact on his family, but at the end of the day he alone would make the decision to return to coaching.

"I make the decisions. This is a decision that will be made solely by me," he said.

Wtf - not too many better opportunities to come in and get to coach a team more than capable of finishing top 4 next year, and be a premiership chance.

Also his commitment hardly sounds convincing, nor does his description of our backline in terms of knowing our list/needs...

It seems that now that you almost have you're man you're already having a bet each-way by blaming Ratten for the defense that poor Mick will need two years to re-build.
Yes, I am kinda putting words in your mouth but please BRIB, let's ease off on bagging Ratts now. He's gone.
