I thought he signed halfway through the season (when dead last) a 2 year deal, and it really did suprise everyone. Then again, MarkT is probably right. Have to research it to get the right answer there.

Where never going to win a flag with him coaching im sorry. He coaches us out of that many games. He's to smart for his own good most if the time :thumbsd:

I disagree entirely. Mick is a super coach, and he proved that01, 02, 03 and now 06. He uses every resource he has to maximal effect. he is great for developing kids over the last two years (previous years questionable and drafting pre 04 was to be desired).

He uses average lists (some may think to malthouses drafting), but he gets the best out of them, making them perform at a higher level than what others would expect. Further the players really gell and react to him. they play for him, they'll do whatever he says, rather than play in spite of him. he commands the respect of all others around him.

He had the arduous task of rebuilding collingwod and he did it in two eyars the first time, and two years the second time (first being 00, 01, second being 04, 05). We've got alot of young kids comming through thanks to MM and they should play under him further. He is level headed and knows what he's doing.

i say leave it to beaver, and continue coaching mick for as long as the club requires:thumbsu:

I thought Mark "hated" Collingwood now? Or will he change his mind if there's a an opening at Collingwood?

I think MM has done the best he can with what he originally had to work with, hopefully he can turn it around again and get us to a flag.

MM gets out coached week after week after week, he vary rarely makes any positional changes throughout the course of a game.
Last week for example blind freddy could have seen that it was going to rain all day and that we needed to go into the game with good ground level players and less talls, yet we took C3 and Wakelin into the game.
He has constantly played Taz deep inside the fwd 50 instead of allowing him to roam accross half fwd/wing.

What do you base that on?

I can’t see how you can justify this. IMO some selections and matchups have been poor. That we have drafted better with early picks means SFA. That’s how it’s designed to work.

He uses injuries as an excuse for failing (were you at the AGM?) but when we have few injuries it’s all him?

has there really been a second time? Bit early to call IMO but why did we need a second time? What has driven the side when they have been successful either time? Largely the players he inherited plus Clement and perhaps Holland.

We have finished second last x 2 with one priority pick, and fourth last in 6 completed seasons under MM and we finished last the year before he arrived with another priority pick. We should have a big list of young talent. There is no credit to MM for what we have. If anything it is under the odds and MM and the recruiters have done a poor job. Add to that a poor trade record and we have the thin and under powered list we have in spite of one of the best draft opportunities of any club since 1999 when MM took over in the post season.

What can we do or any team do against flooding??? Kick long to tall forwards??? hmmm Because that's what the Saints did I think!! Any comments?!!! By the way what happened to the clearance and kick long to a tall forward and either mark and crumbers goal, what happened to that???
Canga

There is no one out there who is better than him, i think we should keep him. Dont start this silly talk of Mike leaving. He is a great coach, i believe we will win a flag under him, will just take time.

IN 2000 the football department expecting the team to peak in 2004, got that wrong with their own predictions, but the recruiting in the past two years has been good so let just wait and see. Problem is Collingwood supports have too many expectations, we start to win some games and everyone starts getting carried away...DOES ANYONE REMEMBER WE FINISHED SECOND LAST IN 2005?????

9-5 at the moment, we beat freo this week we will be 10-5. this time last year we where 4 wins...

Still waiting to hear about the better coaching options for Collingwood other than Mick

Well come in go through the list....

Rumors keep going around Chocko Williams wants to coach Collingwood, would you take him over mike?

There is Malcom Blight, would you take him over Mike?

Dont get me wrong, I think Mick Malthouse is a good coach. But sometimes he does frustrate me when he plays players when he shouldnt, out of posistion etc. But im sure he isnt the only coach that does that. Even if we did get rid of him, what better option is there?? Please suggest alternatives that are available and could come in. I think everyone is forgetting that we are 9-5, and were expected to remain outside the 8 by many experts, though we have had a poor month, i dont expect it to last long, Mick started the year off well, and kept to his word about being flexible for while, but now he is starting to stick with the same old same old and its not working. Need to mix it up, change it up, as obviously what he is doing isnt working to well
