3 Time premiership coach. Sad you couldn't get us one today.

You've had an amazing playing/coaching career.

Salute the Old wise man in this thread :thumbsu:

Good game Geelong. We will miss you Mick, you have been a great coach.

He Played to Injured Players in Reid and Jolly:eek:

Massive Mistake.

Know Mick is Gone and Bucks can come in and Fix us right up as he needs to make some Changes to our Gameplan

Sorry, but I'm too pissed off to toast him at the moment.

Selecting Jolly and leaving Reid on Hawkins cost us big time today.

It was either a toast or a massive roast that wouldn't of been controlled so i chose the sensible option.

Not liking the negativity from some of the Collingwood 'faithful'. He went with what he thought was the best option and we lost. I don't think Mick made the sole decision and that many coaches and fitness staff also had to make those hard choices.

Thank you once again Mick.

Everyone get the **** off his back, yes Reid and Jolly probably should not have been selected but we have heard this time and time again he lets the players make the decision themselves if they are right to play. Reid and Jolly made the wrong decision.

He came to the club in 2000 i think and in two years he coached us from near bottom to runner up premiers twice to the team that in my opinion is rivalling Geelong (2000's) and Collingwood form (1920's) as the greatest team ever. Than we went down the bottom for two years then he coached us right back up to the finals in 2006 were we have stayed since and played in three Grand Finals One resulting in Win, One Loss and One draw!

The way he speaks in interviews you can tell that he is one of the most switched on brains, everything he says you can learn and take something from.

Thank you Mick for everything you have given to the Collingwood Football Club we will miss you :(

Congratulations on a great career and many thanks to Mick Malthouse, a fine builder and great moulder of sides. I will miss his furious moustache, feline frown and great big heart.

Thanks Mick for bringing a group that 2 years ago everyone said we had no A graders to a flag and to today to a team that looked spent after3/4 time.

Cheers

I was never a big fan of his 'around the boundary' game but I really admire MM. Always knew that our sides would have a real dip because of his exceptional leadership skills. Hope he finds a good place in his life after Collingwood. WE are the richer for having had him at the helm all those years.

Nathan Buckley has a really difficult act to follow.

So your 100% certain that Wood on Ottens and Reid on small/medium forward would certainly have gotten us over the line?

Remember, we only lost in a nail biter. Deduct at least 3 or 4 goals which were junk time goals and all day it was a close contest. So Malthouse wasn't "out coached" and you'd be splitting hairs if you were comparing them.

I just watched the MM presser...I understand what his thinking was more about the game today...fair enough.

I guess he couldn't come out during the finals and say we were underdone. Explained even the Reid move pretty well I thought.

Thanks for the memories MM and you have left the club a better place from your tenure here.

Thanks MM for all the hardwork and dedication.

He came to our club, and turned it from a rabble to a powerhouse.

And even though he blocked me on Twitter, I'm still grateful for his achievements at the Pies.

Thanks Mick for everything that you've done and everything that you've achieved.

I hope he isn't remembered for the so-called "mistakes" that he made today. He was a wonderful coach, not only this year, but for his entire stay at the club.

What he said was right. When he came to the club, we were at our rock-bottom. What he has done for our club is remarkable and he should be proud.

This whole succession plan is crap. I still believe that Mick is the best man for the job.

We're gonna miss you mate. Thanks for everything :thumbsu:

The legacy of champion Mick Malthouse

You instilled faith, wisdom, credibility and belief in this club. You are a champion of men and inspired our boys to believe in themselves, gave them structure, training and experience to reach for the stars. What you give and bring is not something that money can buy and that few other coaches can emulate. Your wisdom and faith was encouraging, infectious and will be impossible to replace. Thank you for your heart, commitment and respect. Most of all thank you for modelling to our boys and others what it means to walk tall and not only play like a champion but be a champion man. You didn't focus on what the boys couldn't do, you inspired them to reach for what they wanted to do. The famous William James said "The art of being wise is the art of knowing what to overlook" . You are a wise man, Mick. Humble thanks to you and your family for all that you contributed and sacrificed.I bow and send you all the best for whatever you create in the future.

Thanks for everything you've done for this great club, Mick. :thumbsu: It just won't be the same any more, without you around.
