I keep reading on the main site about a rift that is forming between Eddie and Mick.

I haven't heard too much about this and wondering if there is any truth to the rumour and whether anyone can shed some light?

I highly doubt it but I live in hope.

MM will be coaching Collingwood in 2009 and possibly beyond IMO.

Just my take on it but MM will get a renewal before the end of 2008 unless we dive now and had a very bad 2008 and are unable to cite injuries as an excuse like we and he did in 2005.

end of 2008 opens the door for voss or mark williams

Shed some light? How about this - recent rumours given a run on this site include:
1) Eddie to replace Pert;
2) Clement not to play again this year;
3) Pendles disgruntled and wants to leave; and
4) Bucks finished and will announce his retirement during the finals.

All of them absolute rubbish. Draw your own conclusions on this latest effort. Be particularly wary of naything beginning with: "A well-placed source inside the Club ---" or similar.

Thanks for the tip:thumbsu::thumbsu:

I usually trust myself in weeding out obvious false statements and clear pie-bashing bollox... This though sounded like it may have some merrit, and sometimes where there is smoke, there is fire. I hadn't heard anything about this and simply wanted to ask if there was any truth to the rumour.

It is quite clear thankfully from posters on this thread that it is a load of crap!

What is the big deal bout Voss?

Dead set agree...what is the big deal about Voss?

He is hardly incitefull as a commentator.
Apart from his own press about his wanting to coach, what the hell would make you consider him if you were a club.
Now he is not sure he wants to coach at all, definitley not 2008 and the decision was apparently made for him by his Mrs.

Hardly what you would want to hear from a potential coach.

mm is still my choice... has got the jib done thus far.. should be a couple of games ahead where we are but still reasonably happy .

if we got michael voss id stop barracking for the pies.. i cant stand that red- neck... he was overrated... he was very good... but was made to look better in an excellent team...

A couple of years ago according to a "reliable source from inside the club" Mick Malthouse had cancer or something and was going to retire.

Yeah - must have been a thrill for Nan, Christy et al.

It'd take more time than I have but it would be an interesting bit of research to go back through the threads and build up a file of bizarre and unfounded rumours. Even more interesting would be the supposed sources and the initiators' list!

I have a well placed source within the club.

It behind the potplant, just next to the Bistro over near the salad bar.
Tomato I think.

If you think I am being flippant I am just happy it's only one more sleep till the Pies run on....and a chance to atone for last week and go forward.

It's all happening at Collingwood this last week or so, McGuire to take over from Pert, Malthouse doesnt want Bucks there as an assistant coach looking over his shoulder, Eddie now going to channel 7.

It's a wonder they have time to play football.
