Still hoping for Tomlinson or another ready to play Key Back on a 6-month contract. We’re in trouble if either Moore of Frampton go down IMO.

Try for May as first pick if we like him, then have Brown a train on player in preseason ala Long. He won’t be AFL relevant this year anyway IMO as we have plenty of midfield depth.

I agree… but no noise around Tomlinson

Seems like pies will go with a kid

atm the draft order would be.

Eagles - McCarthy
North - Small forward?
Port - looking for speed in the forward half.
Carlton - Small forward?
Essendon - ruck? defender?
Dogs - Looking at a running defender
Suns - Caleb Lewis
Pies - Archer May

Saints could open up a spot given Dow's injury but tbd
I heard today that Port will pick 2 guys theyve already been working with and both will play this weekend. I've forgotten their names though.

can I just say sucks the news about Harvey H.
Yeah poor kid
I had a feeling when he hadnt been on the track since feb.
I reckon he went too hard too quick early and it swelled up his knee.

No training for 3 months? Sounds a lot worse than some swelling
Yeah. At the time they said, he was in a de load period (kinda like mcstay last year) but the longer it went on and he was MIA, I knew it was something more than that.
Then a couple weeks ago it was said he was getting an artiscope surgery for a clean out.

Definitely a shame because I do think he has the potential to become a solid player.

Nice to know that alongside Reef, he is contracted until 2027 so that will give him some extra time to recover and more then enough time to prove themselves.

Yeah, get themselves right. They're the future, so no rush. Both should be okay come pre-season
At least they arent alone in their recoveries.

Billy Shoota May West. Sounds like an American outlaw from the 1860s

Whatever it was they found in surgery was clearly enough to rule him out for the next 3 months.

Hope he can make it back to the highest level

I think he has something special with him, nice and fresh for preseason
Definitely a keeper. Some of the little knock-ons and one percenters he did, especially late in the Carlton game, last year were traits of a very smart player. Great around goal too. Persevere

They seem to think May is a distraction and North will take him, and our real target is Mason.
Also Bowne with our 2nd pick

So we should fall out of love with May & fall back in love with Mason?

I feel a bit unfaithful now..

Archer May would be an interesting choice, given we also have McCarthy as a ruck forward coming through at the end of the season.
West. May. Mccarthy.
Our future keys.

I like what Stumpf has been able to show this year. Missed the draft and has principally been swung to key defence with a pinch hit or two up forward. Athletic as anything and is really developing a great intercept game. Really think if he is given a few years to develop there’s a reasonable chance he could be a player at AFL level, particularly since he is proper KP height.

Tom Evans just suits our game. Great link up, dash and precision foot skills. Sure he’s not tall (180cm), but can just find the footy and keeps involved in the chain.
Is Evan’s an upgrade on Sully or Josh Browne ( the other potential MSD pick) - if not I can’t see why we’d be interested?
