MELBOURNE DEMONS!!!
well... there was a mid season report thingy on the melbourne site - which if you haven't yet read i recoment that you do.

just wanted to see what everyone else thinks we have in plan from the 2nd half of the season - based on the 1st half.

i must say, i can't beleive we're already half way through the season... its gone so quick!!!
but anyways, i reckon the weeks break will do us some good, and hopefully we'll come back fighting really strong! i for one am looking forward to the rest of the season - even though we have a lack of... NICHO!

well... in my predicted ladder you guys are sitting just inside the 8... but ur gonna have to start playing good again if you really wnana make an impact... at the beggining of the year you were playing very well... but recently i haven't been so impressed... well the roller coaster ride says go up... so good luck!!! just remember... nobody is guarenteed September action... except Carlton and Essendon ;)

Our expectations rose after a surprisingly great start. Reality has hit. We are not a very good team, there is still plenty of work to do which means the club will struggle for the rest of the year and will not make the eight.

I wasn't sure if Blues^rock was joking or not.

As for the original topic, i agree that the MFC needs to get its a into g and start kicking butt, preferably by more than 10 points.

yeh agreed with the more than 10 points thing.. should be more like 10 goals.

i dont think we need to THRASH every team we play... id just wish we'd string a few wins together and play with some good form. they boys seem to fall asleep once they start going well...

I would like us to defend a lead for once. I am sick of seeing us work hard to build a lead, then let them catch up so easily!! We haven't thrashed a team in ages like we can!

The Geelong game should've been the wake up call! However we were a bit better last round & Collingwood played very well. We just have to hang in there like we did in 98 & 2000.

very true!!! i guess there's no excuse...

and adam, we'd al like to see a thrashing, but do you really see it happening?? actually... when was the last time we thrashed any team???

The last time I can remember us giving any team a thrashing was back in 2000, against Freo in about Rd. 19. Farmer kicked 8 I think. Ironic too I guess.

wasn't our last big win in the prelim final vs kanga's in 2000?

um... yeah i think so... we had a bigger win 3 weeks before that against um... west coats? that was like 70 points or something... since then, we've had small wins :(

Hey, you've had wins since the Preliminary Finals of 2000. It's just that you haven't had many since the Prelims of 2001.

I was at the Roos game before that one where they beat us by a point. Man, that was heart-wrenching.

We let them kick 7 or so goals in one quarter, I think, and that was what totally destroyed us.

yeah, and then in the last few mins, all we needed was 1 bloody goal but they missed 4 or 5 times in a row to make us lose by a point...

Yeah Gerg was all set to be the hero until Shane Clayton smothered his shot for goal:mad:.

That match was voted match of the season in 2000.

Woah the memories!

Don't forget Ooze who missed from the edge of the goal-square, which would have put us in front. I remember because I was right behind the goals he was kicking at, and I had pretty much taken it as a goal!

Then there was Gerg... typical Gerg...

The thing that ****ed me off most from that match was hearing a north supporter on the walk back to the station say something like "north did one of their typical magical victories". It wasn't what I needed to hear at the time!
