The single worst moment of the season so far: Hunt getting pinged for dumping a player when he stood up in a tackle and the player fell off his back.

Step up player: Gamble, hadn't seen a lot of him before this season, but has stepped up nicely.
Could do more: Moons has been a bit down, but showed what he can do.

Our best win: Essendon for the thrill of a thrashing, North Melbourne for a satisfying grinding victory without Scarlett for the most part.

Our worst loss: There's only one to choose from, and it was a shocker.

The single most exciting moment of the season so far: Ottens running out with the team for the first time v Carlton! Followed by Pavlich hitting the post to give us the game - I couldn't watch that shot, I covered my eyes and re-opened them when I heard the collective groan from Freo supporters.

The single worst moment of the season so far: Off-field - Egan's bad injury news. On-field - Pendlebury tackling Scarlett a minute into the game v Collingwood. I had a bad feeling straight away.

The Players

We can't do without: Ablett, Ottens and Scarlett.

Step up player: Blake did a reasonably good job as number one ruckman and will continue to improve now that Ottens is back.

Could do more: Jimmy hasn't been himself this year and I hope he can fire up for the second half of the season.

Mr Consistent: Joel Corey - so underrated, hasn't played a bad game all year.

Still to get a run: Would like to see Djerrkura get a run sometime soon.

Can’t cement a spot: Brent Prismall - did well v North so hopefully will retain his spot this week.

The player who I'm always ready to forgive for a mistake: Steve Johnson because you always know he'll back up a mistake with something good.

The player who I'm always ready to knock for a mistake: Shannon Byrnes.

Who do we miss: Matty Egan.

Who do we want: Nathan Jones (Melbourne) - like a younger Chapman. Excellent player.

Rookie watch: Haven't seen much of the rookies but Kangars is meant to be something special.

Our worst loss: Erased from memory banks. I noticed the ladder shows Geelong at 10-1 so I'll assume people who have already posted have highlighted Geelong's worst loss - I'll go with that one.
The single most exciting moment of the season so far: Steve Johnson's over-the-shoulder-look-away handball to Joel Corey against Carlton.(Special nod to the Franklin V Bradshaw shoot-out at the 'Gabba)
The single worst moment of the season so far: The announcement regarding Matthew Egan's injury

The Players
We can't do without: I'm tempted to say Egan or Ottens but Geelong has won without them playing for long periods this year. Scarlett possibly - we will know soon enough.
Step up player: Harry Taylor - massive ask for a first year player (21 or not) to slot right into CHB and hold down the position while an AA is out. Has been huge and defines "stepped up" for me. I'll slide Mark Blake in as well, asked to shoulder the ruck when he is still only a 2nd stringer
Could do more: Tough one, initially thought Hawkins but that is a bit tough on a 2nd year kid. I'll say Kane Tenace.
Mr Consistent: Joel Corey, Corey Enright, Darren Milburn & Matthew Stokes play to their strengths and rarely put in shockers. Bit tough on guys like Ablett, Chapman, Bartel and co. but I think everyone here knows what I mean - I hope.
Still to get a run: Nathan Djerrkura
Can’t cement a spot: Brent Prismall & Ryan Gamble are handy "fringe" players still to/can't quite cement their spot

Our best win: Essendon by 99pts. Moments there that were just like last year.
Our worst loss: No choice. It was a train wreck to watch.
The single most exciting moment of the season so far: Watching Ablett develop into most complete player in the league.
The single worst moment of the season so far: Hearing Egan would be gone for the season. Devastating for him and the team.

The Players
We can't do without: Scarlett. Guess we'll see what happens over the next couple of weeks.
Step up player: Mathew Stokes. Not just a small forward.
Could do more: Steve Johnson. Has been great the past two weeks but not for the whole year.
Mr Consistent: Joel Corey. Always seems to be there abouts.
Still to get a run: Nathan Djerrkura. If injury stops him I'll be devastated. Would be good to see Scott Simpson also.
Can’t cement a spot: Prismall. The ultimate can't cement man.
The player who I'm always ready to forgive for a mistake: Chapman. Puts his heart into the club.
The player who I'm always ready to knock for a mistake: Steve Johnson. So brilliant but oh so dumb.
Who do we miss: Nathan Ablett. Just missing that extra link at CHF.

Favourite Football media personality: James Brayshaw. Just loves his club and has a bit of fun while still having a serious edge.
Best commentator: Brian Taylor. Enjoy the way he goes about it.

Worst Umpiring performance: Anything Ray does. His call on Waite wasting time was horrible.
