OK, it seems foreign leagues and concept threads are all the rage atm, so i thought we'd merge them a little.

Concept: In a new bid for peace across the trouble middle eastern region, a wealthy congolmerate of business men (both western and eastern, under the guide of the AFL) launch a bidding process for a MEFL (Middle Eastern Football Leauge.)

Submit your country designs here for an 18 team league

Rules:
two entries per designer,

reframe from using the obvious country attributes in names and guernseys ie. "israeli Jews," "Iraqi Oilers." Lets be creative and sensitive

winners will be based on originality and concept aswell as on jumper design. Havent decided the best way of picking winners yet, but original designs will be picked ahead of gerneric ones.

Israeli Maccabiahs (Maccabiah coming from the Maccabiah games, the Jewish answere to the olympics)

And the Saudi Arbia Sabres (from the long sabre on their flag)

aleppo sandstorm

aleppo is the largest city in syria...when syria gets a type of sandstorm called a simoom (a nickname i almost used), it moves dust and sand around like a cyclone (hurricane)...so, i altered the hurricane weather symbol, and put it in the colors of the syrian flag with a footy shape in the eye of the storm to create the s-shaped logo...i used the syrian flag and the aleppo sandstorm logo on the jumpers...

I love the away US great backstory with the name exactly what i was hoping for

DAMASCUS ROAD

For those who have heard the term, "Conversion on the road to Damascus", and its mythological/religious links, that's what this team nickname refers to. (Plus also references the Congupna Road in northern Victoria )

Instead of using flag colours (except for black shorts), we've got a slate grey road with white markings, and desert sand sides.

Nowadays Persian Rugs are found in warehouses being MASSIVELY REDUCED by crazy guys SHOUTING IN COMMERCIALS! But this heritage gives Tehran a team to call their own.

Folks, I know I should worry more about my jumpers, but I get discouraged every time I look for the logo MEFL. I decided I should try to make one a little bit more beautiful. and did it. and here it is:
