ESPN -
The Sacramento Kings have agreed to send point guard Mike Bibby to the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for four players, according to ESPN.com.

The Kings will receive Anthony Johnson, Tyronn Lue, Lorenzen Wright, and Shelden Williams from the Hawks for Bibby.

When he heard the news of the deal, Bibby had this to say to the Sacramento Bee:

"I had some good times here in Sacramento. Sometimes you need a change, and you never know where that might take you. I just prayed and asked for what might be the best for my family, and this is what happened so you can't question it."

"I'll always have love for the people in Sacramento, the Maloofs, and [President] Geoff [Petrie]."

good trade for the kings... they get to put more minutes into their younger players and bibby wont be there to stunt them.

and the hawks give up some young players to get an experienced point to put them into the east playoffs.

great trade for both teams.

Not sure if its great trade from Kings perspective. While I am happy that we are starting to clear out salary and move payers, I think that we could have got a bit more in return for Bibby. We got Lue, A. Johnson and Wright who most likely won't be there next season. So the only thing that we will have to show up for this trade in 12 months time is Shelden Williams  and possibly who ever it is we draft with the 2nd round pick we get from Atlanta.

From Hawks perspective they got a great deal. They traded some scrubs and a young big who was not going to get minutes and a pissy 2nd rounder for a genuine starter quality PG.

I like this deal a lot more for Atlanta than Kings especially since Kings had to cut J. Williams and Jones to make this trade happen. Would much rather keep J. Williams and Jones over any of the 3 old farts we got in return from Atlanta.

Hopefully this is a trade that clears up room for other trades that might be brewing, eg Artest and Miller.

oi Stiffy would u do this trade then?

DEN trades: Nene, Najera, JR, Wafer, 1st
DEN receives: Ron Arest, Mike Miller

SAC trades: Ron Artest, Beno Udrih
SAC receives: Nene, Kyle Lowry

MEM trades: Mike Miller
MEM receives: Najera, JR, Beno Udrih, Wafer, 1st (via Denver)

Nope!

Petrie is pretty high on Udrih and I am sure its one of the main reasons he traded Bibby away. Some rumours around Sacramento suggest that Nene and Najera for Artest and Thomas might be on the cards. Who knows what happens but I would be disappointed if Artest is still on our roster after the trade deadline!

Not sure I agree. They needed a PG who can get people easy shots and make the team run a little more - someone like Andre Miller. Instead they get Bibby who's always been shoot-first, and works better in a half court set. Bad fit IMO, even though it's an upgrade over what they had.

I think cap space + an early 2nd rounder is plenty for Bibby.

if nothing else, Bibby is a genuine perimeter shooter, which is something the Hawks needed.

how would the Cavs feel though, knowing this was all that was needed to get the Bibby deal over the line?

and they will all play against....their old teams first up!
Maybe not! All of them will be available for the next game. Atlanta plays Lakers and Kings play Portland.

I would expect Mike to play against the Lakers but I don't think we might see much of the new Kings. One of the PGs would most likely back up Beno but doubt Williams or Wright would play against Portland!
