I swear Sheahan is a deadset Tool, according to his article in todays Herald Sun we have only 2 A grade players, Clement and Buckley, bit harsh, IMO Licca, Rocca, Tazza and Fraser in any other team would be A graders, in the words of this Sheahan TOOL " What do you think"?

And DIDAK a D grader, get your hand off it !!!!!!!

Sheehan is a tool, but his analysis was fair.

Didak is rated down because he's struggling to get his hands on it, through both injury and being played in the forward 50 where tumbleweed sometimes makes the most leads. We know he's got the class.

We've only got two A Grade players, and sadly Buckley isnt one of them.

Clement and Tarrant.

how could u possibly say buckley isnt an A grader? ridiculous post of the week. Alright he has been out for some time, but im fairly confident when he comes back he will be an A grader. Even if he's not, until then to rank the guy down is an insult.

Mike sheehans ratings weren't spot on, but not too far off. I'd think wakelin and tarrant would be close to a grade, burns should be a definite b grade, didak C grade.....

right now i reckon cole lockyer would be pushing for D, as shaw would be pushing for B. Woewoedin although he's had a bad year would probably be C in my books. But yer apart from that he's suprisingly not too far off.

i havent seen the article...was he talking about current form, or career best type form, or a combination of both?

obviously if only on current form Buckley wouldnt even rate a mention

i would think Clement, Tarrant and Buckley are A graders, Rocca not far off, Fraser with a bit to prove

basically ranked our players in classes of A, B, C, D, "journeymen (another word for duds i think), maybes, and untried.

I'd assume its on ability. current form we wouldnt have any A's.

He's talking about the form of players since the 2003 GF, 9 wins from 29 games.

We havent seen an A grade Bucks since 2003, and he will never return to what he was. He will have to reinvent himself as a forward pocket or specialist bench player. He will not be capable of 100 minutes in the midfield.

Dont be so presumptuos. The hammy restricted him, now the tendom is repaired depends how it comes up. Only a fool would compeletely right bucks off. One thing for sure he will give it absolutely 100% and if it is humanly possible to get back near his best, bucks will get there!

He will never be A Grade again. Not week in week out. Only on occassions.

Never.

Same applies to Voss (who you have written off on a different thread) Harvey and Hird.

Buckley is physically superior to these guys imo, im not prepared to write him off.

Depends on how succesful the operation is! Voss has a degenaritive knee problem that can not be repaired!

And the tattslotto numbers for this week are ........... ?

He's had three bad hammys in a year. That makes him equally vulnerable to a shortened career as any of the others I named.

If we put him back in the midfield we'll destroy him. He needs to play a more opportunist role at full forward or off the bench if we want to extend his career.

Right - So when do I get the numbers?

Not aware of the situation? The hamstring tears were in fact caused by a 1 cm tear in the tendon just above the knee! This tear has been stitched up. We await to see how succesfully the surgery is. Best case he no longer has hamstring problems and returns to play some very good football!

I have no doubt he'll return and play very good football. But I do doubt that he'll be the same A Grade champion he once was. Even without the burden of injury, age is catching up anyway.

Age catches up with us all, seen no real evidence of it with bucks apart from the hammy. If the hammy is fixed, he'll come back to play a couple of years of great footy imo. Hes still got that magnificent sublime boot, not to mention poise, decision making and is fantastically fit and stilll prepares with 100% attention to detail!

The article is very fair and summises our situation well. We have recruited poorly and it seems that we lost faith in some players who have gone on to perform well at other clubs. We also kept or replaced them with players who are either burnt out from the '02 and '03 campaigns or simply not up to it.

I think we are in for a few lean years.

Regards

S. Pete

I thought his article was harsh but fair, and yes Didak is an D grader (he certainly hasn't performed at an A level for any length of time in his career)
