God what an idiot,
look at this from the article,

"He walked onstage dressed entirely in black, then faced the wing of the stage from which Lewis was to enter. When Lewis, dressed in a gray suit, stepped onto the stage, Tyson rushed him.

People jumped in to keep them apart and it appeared at least one person was hit by a punch. Then, for several minutes, bodies were rolling around and throwing punches until order was restored.

Tyson then strode to the front of the stage, threw his arms into the air in a triumphant stance and made an obscene gesture".

Bloody moron, should be in jail still.
Hope he gets KO'ed in the first round.

A 70-something year-old man was injured in that fight. Tyson is a disgusting rapist who hopefully is going back to jail.

Lewis in the second. Has a glass jaw but will have the reach and be quicker than Tyson.

Tyson is a flog, I think I'm just stating the obvious. :o

If he is charged & found guilty of this rape, they should lock him up & throw away the key, the guy obviously has no morals & thinks he can do what he pleases because he is a "celebrity".

Since he was covicted in '91 he has had a heap of bogus rape claims made againstr him, with all of them being thrown out before they even went to court.
It's sad that so many women would try and earn a quick buck like that, bunch of gold diggers.

As for Lewis Vs Tyson, I'm leaning towards the Brit at this stage and if he can survive the first three rounds he should be able to stop Tyson in the late rounds like Holyfield did in their first encounter. I love my boxing but I'm getting sick of all Tyson's crap and I am/was a huge Iron Mike fan and it was his greatest hits tape which I used to watch non stop growing up.

Hitman

How has Lewis got a 'glass jaw'.

The two punches that have put him down were both excellent shots and he was up during the count on both ocassions. In fact, after the first one the fight should have gone on.

Joe Frazier was knocked down more in one fight than Lewis has been in his whole career, and Joe didn't have a glass jaw.

As long as Lewis trains properly he'll outbox Tyson and win within seven rounds.

Come on it's all a work aka WWF style to sell tickets and boost PPV sales, that is what these boxing press conferences are supposed to do

The last Lewis press conference ended up the same way with a TV hosting set getting trashed and Tyson wasn't even involved.

Age old boxing tradition, if nothing had happened in the press conference, it wouldn't of been reported anyway but now it's worldwide news

Don't take it all too seriously, even as rusty as Iron Mike is he doesn't throw haymakers that don't connect while standing face to face with Lewis' bodyguard!

'Iron' Mike has definitely lost it, I'm like you Fletch I used to love watching him fight.I still remember Trevor Berbick's legs going like Bambi's as he tried to get up.
I can also still remember Michael Spinks shaking like a leaf before losing in about 90 seconds.

I can't stand Lewis, as far as I'm concerned he's not British he won Gold for Canada so they can have him.

I don't think Tyson is up for fighting Lewis now as he would probably get done but at their peaks Lewis wouldn't have had a prayer.

It's a sad indicement of heavyweight boxing when he's the best out there.

It's as if everyones convinced that you have to be at least 240 pounds (110 kg?) to make it but these big lugs can't move & they can't jab they just stand there like dummies.I bet you most of them wouldn't have a prayed against much smaller men like Jack Demsey & Rocky Marciano who only weighed in at about 200-210 pounds but actually knew how to box & were great world champs(when there was only one)

As for Tyson's original rape conviction, I seem to remember it was very shaky indeed & there really didn't seem to be enough evidence to convict. If he really was innocent then it's hardly surprising that he's in a rage against society, I'm sure I would be in the same situation.

Its all staged, or at least in Tysons camp...he has that image so he needs to fuel it! Simple as that. As for the fight, if Lewis is still standing after the first three rounds he will win but Tyson could knock the **** out of him early on as IMO he still has the biggest punch in the business.

Watching the sports report, when Tyson went to punch Lewis's bodyguard, he was 1 metre away from him and missed!!

Tyson is a pro boxer and from a distance of a metre missed a guy?? seems pretty suss to me

Tyson is the scum of the universe, he should be in jail. It is disgraceful that he is able to fight, yet Mundine was told he'd never fight in the country again

GREAT doco.

Roughly translated as

That Foreman was one bad mutha. Now he sells health grills:confused:

Tyson was and is nothing but a brawler. Never had great skills but was out and out ferocious. Saying that any decent heavyweight with capable boxing skills would have taken him even at his best. Blokes like Holmes, Norton, Frazier, Quarry all of them were better boxers and in an era of some of the best heavyweights of all time.

Lewis has more skill than often given credit for, also as Booze Hound pointed out, he hasnt been down as often as most seem to think. He was lazy against Rahmin and was punished for it.

Lewis if he is prepared should have no problem with Tyson, who isnt even a great brawler anymore. He has gotten this bout on reputation of past achivments and the 'name' value that will ensure big money for the fight. Akiwande, Klitschko and Donald all deserve a shot before Tyson, but of course the money wouldnt be as much so Tyson it is.

Lewis in five or six rounds. Would love to see a first round knock out of Iron Mike though... cause if he isnt insane (which would explain alot) then he really is just a low time thug raised high.

How awesome is that "Ali bomo ye" chant? The music in "When we were Kings" is sensational as well

I don't buy that at all, Tyson is a nutcase and has proved it many times :

- When he bit Holyfield's ear off in their second fight.
- When he tried to break Botha's arm.
- When he hit Orlin Norris after the bell.
- That interview where he said he wanted to rip out Lewis's heart and eat his children.
- The desire he used to have about trying to land a punch which would send an opoonents nose bone back into their brain.
- The incident last year when he attacked an elderly motorist after a car accident.

As for the Rahman-Lewis brawl that was fairly harmless and there was no punching or biting. The press conference brawl yesterday was 100% real IMO.

Haha Good stuff as always Dip.

What about Henry Cooper? Our 'enry!

Now theres a Heavyweight boxer to be proud of, they don't make them like that anymore.

For sure he can still whack but the handspeed has gone, he doesn't move his head, his footwork is poor and his front on stance makes him an easy target. He has gone downhill ever since Rooney and D'amato stopped training him and ever since that crook Don King started promoting him, thats what ruined Tyson(along with four years in prison).

The Tyson of today is just a shadow of the man who ruled the division in the mid to late eighties.

Sure does, it all changed for Big George shortly after his loss to Ali when he had just lost a twelve rounder and he was in his dressing room showering and he came out naked as they day he was born and saw Jesus.

After that he quit boxing and began preaching, he made a comeback in '87 and in '94 he recaptured the IBF belt when he knocked out Michael Moorer and became the oldest man to be recognised as the heavyweight champion.

An incredible fairy tale and turn around in anyones language.

.

I strongly disagree, Tyosn was a lean, mean killing machine in his prime and was way more than just a brawler, the guy perfected the peak-a-boo style of Boxing which turned his small size into an advantage, he could bob and weave like a Welterweight and than strike with tremendous power and combination punching which has never been seen before in H/weight boxing. He disposed of the top contenders in the early rounds so surely he had something going for him?

He's record as the youngest man to ever win the Heavyweight Championship was amazing and will stand for many years to come. In his prime I have no douht that he would have wiped the floor with Frazier, Norton, Holmes and Quarry. The Tyson of the mid to late eighties should be anyone top ten of Heavyweight greats because he deserves it.

Also how can you say Huggin Henry Akinwande deserves another shot when in '97 he fought Lewis and failed miserably, so much so he was disqualified for holding in round five. Plus in his last fight he was knocked out by another bum- Cry baby Mcall in the tenth. Larry Donald is another journey man who doesn't deserve a shot, he is mediocre at best and would be blown away by Lennox.

Agree with your rating of Klitschko, he looks the goods and probably needs a couple more hard fights in the US against other top ranked contenders before he gets his shots.
