Good, pity about Rivers, he was our best defender last week and also kicked a few against them in a QB game a few years back.

Where is Maric? not even a Emergiency

No Sylvia?

Also, given that Miller has been so insipid at AFL level, and Juice has been so good at VFL level, he definitely deserves his spot in the senior team.

Let's hope he makes the most of it :thumbsu:

I heard this on the way home and was about to celebrate, i then heard Newton was in. :thumbsd:

Wow!!!! So we replace one soft dud forward with another, Bails, you're a ****ing genius!!!

It's about bloody time. But Newton? Oh dear. Not much of an improvement. Prove me wrong, son.

All those ripping into Juice being picked, do you understand how selection works?

If you wouldn't pick Juice who else would you pick to replace him? Watts? No way. Juice kicked 4 and had 29 touches for Casey last week.

I must admit, my first thought was "damn, no Sylvia" but then I saw that Miller had been dropped and that frown definitely turned upside down and then some! (does that even make sense?)

I am expecting us to be "competitive" for a quarter or MAYBE even two but the Pies will probably turn it on after the break and give us a nice touch up :(

Miller would have looked better at chb. IMO our backline has gapping holes. MacDonald slow, Dunn dunno, Warnock mmmmmmmm.........

Jesus Christ, this shit again.

Some players are very very good VFL players that simply cant do it at AFL level. Newton is one of them.

Thank god. I hope it's permanent. Dunn and Spencer are extremely lucky to still be in the side. What's going on with Maric, Martin and Cheney? Newton and Bail don't exactly fill me with hope.

Why the f**k is spencer still doing in this side, he had 2 possies a couple of hit outs...surely martin could do a little better than that you c**k bailey!!!!!!!

Youre right - we should have picked Carey or Lockett. Oh hang on wait - we dont have those guys.

But seriously I would agree and suggest we just play with a smaller forward line and give the guys a proper chance to show their stuff, but you cant agrue with a decent preseason and 29 touches, 4 goals at Casey. Juice has demanded another shot imo.

Completely agree. Dunn and Spencer should have been dealt with this week.

Is Miller out of contract this year?

Gold Coast Footy Club beckons for Miller at the end of this year I believe. He heads back home, works on the tan, ends up with a long career as a professional footballer. Good result for someone of his oh so limited ability.

A good physique can deceive a new coach. Take Daniel Bell, when Bailey arrived, he was all "here is a 4th year player with a great body that I'm going to get something out of". If he had called the fans on his drives home from training like Bomber Thompson did when he started at the cats he would have found out that Bell was an atrocious decision maker and turnover specialist. But he really does have a good athletic physique.
