mills will get picked. late second round imo.

the others have the nbl

Pete, you're way better than this dribble. Mills late second round? WTF mate.

Joe Ingles and Luke Nevill will be grade A European players. Arron Baynes has signed to play in Europe already.

"the other have the NBL" - you're better than this.

If Ingles becomes an A grade European player (i.e. key rotation guy for a top 4 Euroleague team or similar), I'll eat my hat.

i seriously hope he does make it in europe (or even the nba). yes he's skinny etc but he's got skills. maybe not a top playing in europe but good enough

He will emulate the same sort of career as Brad Newley. He may not win MVP or all star selection awards but will be a very good contributor for his team in one of the top European leagues.

It’s not like he will play in England or Sweden where anyone bum can get a game, he will play in one of the big 5 leagues (Italy, Spain, Greece, Russia or France)

what happened to newley? i remember the hype and simultaneous orgasms all over australia when he was picked by the rox. i too got excited :(

this is probably why i keep my excitement in check when an aussie is projected to be picked.

I believe Newley is much more talented.

Ingles is a typical case of "jack of all trades, master of none". People fell in love with the idea of a 6"9 wing, especially when he was performing well in the NBL at a young age, but he's shown no improvement over the last 3 years.

I agree with you and i think a lot of that has come down to him not being challenged. He should never have gone to the NBL out of the AIS and gone to America and played college ball.

He is a ‘jack of all, master of none’ now as he hasn’t been challenged to improve his deficiencies over the last 3 years. He has been able to coast in the NBL, it’s been easy.

Once he gets to Europe and is forced to improve, that will the time he will either sink or swim – hopefully he can start swimming and show that promise and for fill his potential.

I believe once he gets into a European environment and everyone around him is just as good, he will show signs of improvement again.

He is going ok with Panellinios in Greece. He is there 3rd leading scorer with just under 11 PPG (remember it’s only a 40 min game) so these numbers are good.

But saying that i think it simply proves that someone cannot to get excited about someone getting picked with a second round draft pick because the NBA is so strong.

The more I read about Nevill statistically, I cant see why he wouldnt at least go into the 2nd round.

Of this year's Centre crop, hes top 5 in most statistical categories, he ripped apart BJ Mullens in two workouts so much so that BJ pulled out of a third and was literally found crying in the locker room after one of them, yet he is a lottery pick and Luke is nowhere to be seen.

I think someone will take a gamble on him late in the 2nd round, Id love to see the Hornets pick up a legit 7footer but that's purely for selfish reasons.

Baynes however, no.

Edit: OK it seems hes a bit of a ****** socially, but as peternorth says, another white man to the Jazz!

**** that was difficult to watch. With all the balls and people talking over the top of the cover – lost focus a few times.

Good luck to him. Interesting to hear him say a team as high as 28 or 29 may take him.

He will get drafted.

and that was my reasoning for not rating nevill etc (minus mills). i dont want to be hurt again.

nick van exel (mr 2nd round) says hi :D

Always an exception to the rule. Michael Redd plenty other say hi as well.

However as Nevill is a 7’1 guy who can catch, Run and chew gum at the same time (implying not a white stiff) would be a good fit in a lot of teams for the end of the bench. Big 7 footers are different to 6 foot 7 guards who are a dime a dozen in the states.

nevill to utah done deal.

he has an interestingly shaped head

Hey Pete, can you post my girlfriends n00dz?

Also what sort of salary would Joe Ingles be looking at while playing in Europe in comparison to being a 2nd round pick in the NBA and making the roster

Do NBA players get match payments? That would be the only thing he would miss out on - his contract would be the same in the NBA or overseas.

???

Players who play overseas are in effect deferring their NBA contract, and get paid by the overseas team. Only once they come back does their NBA one kick in.

Fair enough, I was just speculating. :D

But when a player gets drafted, dont they have a guaranteed one year contract? Surely that would mean they recieve something from that, regardless of where they play? I dont have the best knowledge of contracts and that sort of stuff.
