Minimum wage - Destroying Australian forums?

In recent time as I've compared the quality of Australian and American forums, I've noticed that the quality is substantially superior in our American counterparts. This has led me to trying to create theories as to why. Here is what I believe.

In Australia as we have decent minimum wages, even the biggest imbecile can afford a computer and internet which allows a greater percentage of ignoramus' to gain access to these forums. As they're idiots it generally lowers the quality on our forums making them crap.

It seems that the greatest Australian forums that are being hurt by this, are those that are based around online gaming. These people can't afford to live life and entertain themselves by playing games with strangers online.

On the other hand I've noticed in America a high standard. I believe that as their minimum wage is generally lower and by lower, I mean something a 13 yo would get at McDonalds here; these people can't afford a computer, or pay for internet. Meaning that the imbeciles that generally lower the quality of forums, don't have access to them. Meaning the standard is higher.

Thoughts? Are our high minimum wages a contribution to the poor standard on Australian forums?

I take your point re lack of educational opportunities, but doesn't that make these people untapped potential rather then imbeciles? Just because your circumstances don't allow you the privilege of an education, doesn't mean that you're necessarily slow witted.
