I will be getting it, don't know when, but it will probably be after I get R2, then I will have to get Fallout 3, Saints Row 2, Dead Space, etc. etc.

Its out tomorrow

Cant wait I will be grabbing it for sure

It was out yesterday, heaps of people grabbed it (unless the street date was broken). $79 at JB - tempting.

Might go and grab COD:WaW and ME on the weekend (no rush, still blasting through Gears 2 :D)

No mate out today, i just grabbed it.

If some places break embargo's then that is up to them and eventually they will probably face fines. But it was dated for the 13th, no where around me ever brings out things earlier than the street dates. Well sometimes EB but I would rather save $20 and grab it at JB a day later

Got this on the weekend - never played the demo, but thought I'd pick it up out of curiousity sake.

I have to say, I am totally blown away by this game. I thought it'd be ok, but it seriously is so addictive....absolutely loving it.

It looks amazing, it's very fluid gameplay for the most part, it's pretty challenging without being ridiculous and it's a bit different.

I thought the constant running would pizz me off and get boring, but it's excellent trying to pick an escape route from the enemy.

Very glad I got it, big thumbs up to DICE :thumbsu:

Is anyone playing this.

Story is very short but entertaining. Its a great game but has some flaws (every game does mostly).

Doing the speedruns and time trials at the moment. Some of the times that people can do are incredible!

Yeah Hedge, on Chapter 4 (just started).

Loving the art direction of the game and it's actually a nice change from the typical FP game - I also like how the perspective is actual eye level as opposed to chest level from most FPS.

You're right, there are flaws - i.e. the combat is fairly uninspiring, BUT, the point is to avoid combat anyway. Also, there's heaps of times when the jumps can be a bit unresponsive.

Will probably finish this tomorrow, as I've breezed through so far. Keen to give the speed runs a go and have heard some times are insane.

Spoiler (highlight text) --> Love the part where you have to jump on to the train roof then across to the other train - was very intense

Yeah that bit you mentioned is easily the coolest. Theres a few other variations of the game that are cool, changes it up from the simple jump her jump there. Ive been able to meet the target time in the first two levels, they werent too bad, havent tried any others.

On another note this game was on at JB today on a PS3 so i thought I would just do a bit of a run and OMG the PS3 controller is absolutely terrible. I didnt realise that they really havent updated that thing since the PS1, it is so awkward dont know how people play with that thing. Guess thats why some people prefer PC gaming to consoles, they have only used PS controllers.

How is it awkward Hedge?

I know my thoughts are well know about the PS3 controller, but from the POV of playing ME, the issue for me is again the analogue stick positioning

After d/ling and messing around with the NXE this morning, ran through (literally) a bit more ME - it's got me hooked.

The combat is pretty ordinary, but the running is damn fun

I agree with the analogue sticks. I am no expert on hand placement so I can just go by my feel, but i felt it difficult to move with sticks as well as use left bumper (L1 i think PS calls it), because if you are facing the controller your hands and very vertical holding a PS controller. 360 controllers have your hands at more of a 45-60 degree angle and you fingers naturally rest in the bumper area. Just my opinion

HBK, I thought you said the DLC was PS3 exclusive? It's coming to PS3 and 360 with the PS3 getting ONE additional map:

http://blogs.ign.com/XoZeN/2008/12/04/107159/

"The 7 Maps will be Available for PC, PlayStation 3 and XBox 360 for $10 or 800 Microsoft Points. The PlayStation 3 Version will also Receive an Additional Map for FREE. "

This was where I got the info.

Sony has dismissed reports Mirror's Edge will be a timed PS3 exclusive - but said there will be downloadable content available only via PlayStation Network.
EDIT: Also here: http://www.ripten.com/2008/09/02/sony-scores-exclusive-dlc-for-mirrors-edge/
So it was still true, but that info was released a few months ago, and there were no details of anything, but maybe the PS3 will get more future content that the 360 won't.

This is definately the next game I'm buying along with Fifa 09.

I don't think I'd call it a review, Yahtzee has named all of 1 game that is truly good(Portal) in reviews, he hates 3 individual Prince Of Persias, but elements of the 3 of them put together equals the perfect POP.

I am sure that some of it is true, but honestly, take IT ALL with a grain of salt.

Amazingly, I saw him at the eGames expo a week or so ago, he is no where near as funny in real life.:(

Isn't Yahtzee just a big troll who maligns everything he sees and constantly contradicts himself?
Yes, but he is ****EN FUNNY!

I do think he is serious most of the time though, which is sad, very sad.
