I'm wondering whether they didn't think of this first on our very own Prisoner. Now that was a classic Aussie show. Ahh the days of Bea Smith, Lizzy Birdsworth, Doreen What's-her-face, Frankie and the delinquent gang who joined later. Ahh, I remember the brawls: "Biiiitch, biaaatch!!!" :D

Anybody know why Val Lehman quit the show, forcing the producers to send Bea Smith to Barnhurst :rolleyes: (where she later died, when it became clear Lehman wasn't coming back)? There was plenty of mileage left in her character...

No doubt "to pursue other interests" creatively stifled, time for something else, broaden horizons etc
