This one made it onto the Obituaries page in this year's AFL Season Guide, GC, so the AFL are obviously aware of it, and Collingwood Forever, AustralianFootball.com and Wikipedia all have it.

The Encyclopedia has his DOB as 17 April 1927, when it should be 25 April 1925.

Yet another famous name found, who appears to have been missed by the AFL.

A Gordon "no not him" Ramsay who has a DOB that matches a St Kilda player who played 13 games from 1947 to 1949 died in 2011.

VIC BDM gives us:

Russell has been able to establish that Lawrence William Corby and Eugene Francis Corby are 2 different men
(but they are brothers).

From Vic Births:

Lawrence William born 11-2-1923 (matching what he says on his military enlistment)
Eugene Francis born 24-12-1924 (matching what we already have for him, as a Coll footballer)

both to parents William John/Rose Rafferty

The noted dod is for Lawrence William and needs to be adjusted back to Unknown

Lawrence William and Eugene Francis (Frank) were brothers. Frank used Lawrence's name when in trouble with military and police. Frank had other aliases and was involved in a fair bit of "mischief". An interesting character.

Findagrave and the Mornington cemetery site (name search is a bar at the bottom) match the DOB.

John Paice, 4 games for Carlton in 1955 died on 12 Jan 2015.
