I don't really get why WC would want Clark. He's a natural for us.
He said in one of the articles he doesn't see much opportunity at WC which is why he likes Freo. Who is he join got push out of WC?

Is the general consensus that Tippett and Clarke are worth roughly the same amount?

One of Lynch or Lycett could potentially be on the way out? Lynch is uncontracted atm could goto GWS and Lycett could be packaged with Ebert..Highly doubt we'll get Clark but lets see what happens.

You are right though, he's a much better fit for Freo who are desperate for young KPF's.

GWS are not looking for players for the mini-draft picks at this stage.

Their list is nearing capacity since they have to take their NSW Zone Selections, so they will be trading the mini draft players for draft or compensation picks.

I was under the impression that they were looking for top line players, this was impression that Rendell from the Crows gave.

Pick 4 this year may interest them or one/both of Melbournes compo picks. This would mean a swap of Scully for JOM.

Lynch is a fairly flaky proposition long term, good this year but couldnt crack many games the year before. And they might believe Darling is more suited through the midfield/HF/3rd Tall type than a KP position.

If Lynch's form drops next year and they play Darling through the midfield suddenly we are short on marking options!

Clark is also allot younger then Lynch, taller, slightly less good forward (this year) and a much better ruckman.

In a direct comparison I would have thought so. Tippett a better forward (although he's had longer there), Clark a better ruck.

Tippett, a better mark with better hands, both good at ground level although I see Clark being a bit more mobile, both average kicks for goal (mitch did improve this year a bit). You could argue that almost making the AA team had Clark in front slightly, but that was as a ruckman rather than a forward, but in pure who's worth more than who, regardless of position maybe Clark slightly ahead but I'd be happy to call them even

Take away who's uncontracted and who is and its pretty much square. Similar ages. This far into their development what pick they were drafted is irrelevant.

Now at this point in time with Clark uncontracted, and only two possible suitors, while Tippett is contracted, you could argue that Adelaide are in a better position to get more for Tippett than Brisbane for Clark this year.

Next year may be a different story with Tippett uncontracted.

overall value is equal. What they could get from them this year may lean in Adelaides favour.

Evidence?

You realise a draft pick will turn into a player that takes up a list spot?

I know you probably posted this because you hope they accept GC's pick 4, but seriously what you want and what has been indicated are two different things.

It would only be compensation picks if what you have said was true.

Gotta say I like the idea of WC and Bris making an example of these players, who say they just want to go home then nominate a club, by just going ahead and making the trade.

It is kinda funny, isn't it?

All I want is to be close to my granny and troubled cousins!

Plus $600k / year.

Plus to play where I want.

Come on man. You started the last Mitch Clark thread so you know the territory.

Zach Clarke is contracted, came out with the glossy full page spread saying that he's going no where (which he wouldn't have done without Freo's blessing). He's going no where.

Great start to this thread I reckon.

1) he is contracted..and so what. can still be traded
2) Im sure he could be talked into moving back home to play with the pies
3) oh, and yes he did publicly commit to Freo, but that was before freo started targeting Mitch Clark, and ross lyon endorse griffin as part of his ruck plans.

too be it seems that Ross Lyon rates Mitch Clark very highly, and would love to get high without handing over draft picks...ie Z Clarke.

Is it really that far off? If so, should freo get him I guess get ready to pay up with good draft picks. Eitherway I and many lions supporters will be very happy :)

Not a chance of getting Zack Clarke, IMO he'll be better then Mitch Clark and i doubt Bondy would let him go. If it did happen i would want Clark and a pick or something like Clarke and our Compo pick for Clark and the Lions first pick

Uh-oh. Wait till the Lions posters see this. There ain't gonna be enough emoticons I reckon.

Lynch + pick 23 from WC to GWS
Clark from Brissy to WC
O'Meara pick from GWS to Brissy

Brisbane would probably have to throw in their pick 8 to get O'Meara.

I think a better chance would be Lynch plus pick 23 for pick 13 or 15 from GWS

Let me have a shot.

Pick 16,Griffin to Collingwood

Dayne Beams to Brisbane

Mitch Clark to Fremantle

Collingwood get a good ruckman if Jolly does retire who is much better than Woods. And allow Witts and Cegalar to develop more.

Fremantle get that Forward that they need

Brisbane get Beams who will fill a role on the HFF and go into the midfield as well.

So now we are losing pick #16 and Griffin for Mitch.

I really hope we dont pay that high a price for Mitch. I have said this all the way through, I hope we dont pay more than our 2nd round pick and a player for him.
