Ya whatever. IF any deal was to happen it would need to be a good player, and if the "Palmer is disgruntled" rumours are on the money, that makes him more likely.
 
If this rumour is true then that would be great if we could get Clarke back home to WA. Harves did say a few weeks ago that we would be looking for a forward and some midfield depth. Clake would be a great forward for us and that would leave us only needing to find some midfield depth.

Where do you see Silvagni playing? FB seems pretty much perfect.

MacPharlin for another 2-3 years, Grover for 1, Sibbo to debut next season, Roberton to fill out and build his strength on 1on1's. And another KP or 2 onto the list for development.

With him and Clarke our ruck issues are solved as well.

Props to astro toby who started this thread a week ago and looks to be on the money.

I haven't seen a lot of footy this year so it's hard for me to determine what Clark's worth. Are Palmer and Rich close? That would be the only reason that Rhys would entertain a move to QLD and if he is to be traded it would probably be up the road but they have enough players who are suspecct by foot so I don't think Palmer will be traded unless he initiates it.

Or, Fremantle could guarantee him a place on their list for 2012 and instruct him to trash his trade value next year.

Then Brisbane might lose him to GWS for huge $$ anyway.

What ruck issues would they be?

We had easily the best ruckman in the comp and Kepler was more effective in the games that he played than most of the No1 ruckmen at other clubs.

Purely on stats (and I know they don't tell the whole story) we had 2 of the top 3 ruckmen in the comp. The top 3 sides in the comp had only 2 players finish in the top 20. Jolly at 10 and Ottens at 19. The Saints best was Gardiner at 22. Maybe we're placing too much emphasis on this one position?
 
Just had Mitchy's bro confirm that he is definitely looking to come back to WA. Whether that lands him with us or the E-girls remains to be seen.

According to a source on the Brisbane Board it has just been announced by SEN that Mitch Clark wants to be traded to Fremantle.

If this is the case we should trade Palmer and our first round draft pick (effectively a 2nd round draft pick) to Brisbane. Brisbane would have back-to-back NAB Rising Stars and we would have a spot in the Top 4.

I think Palmer is a good player and will do better in 2011 but that deal would work for us.
 
The dilemma for Brisbane is that they only have him contracted for one more year. IF he wants out now and a deal cannot be done then surely he's going to want out next year when GWS can take him and all Brisbane will get is a compo pick.

Brisbane would do well to consider any worthwhile offer for Clark. I would say that Freo's first round pick and whatever else (2nd round pick or player) is worth more than the compo pick they will get next year.

Of course this is all relying on the fact that he wants to leave AND that he wants to go to Freo.

Oh dear. We had Sandilands miss games due to injury. When he missed, we lost. That is a MASSIVE ruck issue right there.

Depending on 1 ruckman who is getting the amount of on-field ruckwork as sandi, with MJ and Bradley (Bradley didn't regularly make our best 22, but you claim he is better than most #1 rucks....?) as backup is fine while we are in development mode, but not when we are in finals contention mode. That has changed for us, and unless Clarke is ready to play next season, we have an area of the ground we can improve on. 2 areas if you add in tall forward.

Agreed. His value is rock bottom now, I really don't want to see him traded.

Combining a few of my posts from other threads, here's what I'd like to see happen:

C.Tarrant + Pick 37 -> Pick 25

Pick 25 + Pick 20 + G.Ibbotson -> M.Clark

Just forgetting the Tarrant trade, 2 late first rounders would have gotten Fyfe & Black last year and Swift & Redden the year before. It is apparent that quality is still available at those picks.

Brisbane can forget about Fyfe, Hill and Mora.
