By all reports this kid is a huge fwd talent and with the Hawks likely 10 year FF CHF combination should we look to approach him as from the glimpises I have seen he looks to have lots of upside.

You won't get him. Clubs simply do not let go #6 draft picks after only 2 years.

To get him to Carlton would probably need to include a 3rd club. Hawthorn are after a quality key defender, and Geelong seem to have plenty on their list, especially with Egan to come back next year. We'll end up with say pick 6-8, give that to Geelong, Hawks get a KPP from the Cats and we get Thorp. Every club wins.

I think you'll find that Geelong wouldn't be very interested in helping the Hawks find a key defender. Plus we're also getting majorly screwed with that deal. You want to give up pick 6 for a guy who's done absolutely nothing since he got drafted? No way in hell. I'd rather Hurley or Ziebell.

Never trade with Hawthorn- don't you remember what they did to the Kangas, and what about how they tried to get Thornton??? If he plays for Hawthorn forget him.

Agree. Hawthorn, Essendon and Collingwood are three clubs that any club should be very hesitant to trade with for players. Although if you have a nice dud Collingwood will at least listen to a suggested trade for their first round pick.

Haha, yeah, fair points both of you.
