News Mitchell contracted for 2017

According to Clarkson on the footy show, Mitchell has a contract for 2017.

shouldnt really effect the level of speculation, just who its directed at.

easiest way to decrease speculation is just to announce who re-signs.

Clarko also almost guaranteed Hodgey will be going around next year too. We all know Gibbo wont be going, he's playing as good as ever and is needed for structure. That leaves burgers to speculate upon. Personally I want him to go around again too. Cant we just keep them all!

Haha. The thing is, we need to blood the youth, but none of these old pricks are playing shit footy so why would they retire?

I agree however, we are blooding plenty of youth with these guys still in the team. We only have 4 over 30, which is not disastrous.

The only issue will be is that we don't want them all to retire at the same time.

Clearly the club will move on 2, I'm thinking Gibbo and Burger. Although a lot will depend on how Hodge can return to form (but his injury riddle year might do him in anyway).

The club has planned for this and will stay strong with the decision. A lot of lesser clubs would have given at least Lake another year and that would just push you closer to the cliff.

We had 39 on the Senior list at the start of the year so we only really need to clear two spots
They could come from anywhere on the list. We could move one of the older brigade, we could move someone cruelled by injuries like Swiss or Spang.

Someone like Fitz could go if we find an upgrade or decide Pitts has improved enough to stick someone on the rookie list as fourth ruck depth

The club you would think will have to make some hard decisions this year, otherwise we could lose Hodge Mitch, Burgers and Gibbo all next year.
That would be scary.

Losing any of them at any time is scary haha.
