Made it to majors after 30 games
Im a LF for the colorado rockies

Struggled for first 15 games in majors.
But then i put in about 3 solid performances in a row including 1st homerun which gave us the lead.
After that i was on a hot streak
My stats were bumped up from mid 60's to 80's an well now myplayer is on fire
Almost hit for the cycle just needed a triple to complete it
Then next game i missed out on the cycle again but this time i got everything but the homerun.
Im now in the middle of a 10 game hitstreak
Player is still on his hot streak so im racking up big skill points right now.

Once u get your batter on a hot streak it makes life soooo much easier

Not as good as myplayer mode in NBA2k11 miss all the extras like the press conferences, sponsors, and coaches asking for suggestions.

Still good though

When i first come to the majors i was playing on Pro and hitting .600 LOL, then changed it to All Star and struggled a bit but now streaking again, my Astros have won 15 out of 18 and are fighting for the Wild Card spot.

Got my copy yesterday.

Couldnt put it down after I started playing it.

Was hitting just over .300 before getting called up from AA to AAA as a middle infielder - mainly SS.

Since then I have had about 2 games, hitting .166 or something pathetic, and have already made 2 errors in the field. Not a good start.

I really struggle in the batters box though. I went on a 17 game hitting streak in AA, but was mainly made up of singles, and a double here and there. Have only hit 5 HR in my career, with 4 of those coming from 2 games.

Any tips on how to hit better? My discipline is pathetic. Sliders on the outside corners absolutely kill me.

Patience is obviously the key. I just wait for fastballs and have a batting average of .380 in the majors in my rookie year, when you get ahead in the count your pitches will come.
 
Just been on my longest hit streak in the majors (10 games). In that run came my first ever Grand Slam.

I've hit 8 hr and 32 rbi in the season so far, half way thru the season, even managed one hr just hitting contact, it freaked me out.
 
Any of you wanna play online? i've played a few games but it's pretty tough against the Americans with the lag.

Best tip for batting in any baseball game is don't try to hit a homer every at bat. You'll get used to knowing which are the pitchers you can absolutely crush (high fastballs and hanging sliders and curveballs) and which ones you should lay off. Remember you've got strikes you can use. You don't need to swing at every pitch. Sometimes you can take one if it's in a shitty location and you won't be able to do anything with it. It's better to take a strike in that situation than to pop-out or ground out on 2 pitches.

I may be able to have a game with you over the next couple of days providing things go my way. I have been using a mates xbox (my disc tray is stuffed on my xbox) and not sure when he will be taking it back. My GT is juandamian.

No problems mate i should hopefully be on tonight depending on how i feel after indoor soccer tonight. Tried a game online today and i can see what you meant by the lag, both of us decided that we should uit because both were looking at throwing K2's after K2's due to not being able to swing the bat anywhere close.

MLB the Show 11 is not coming to JB Hi Fi at all, at least that's what they told me when I went in a few weeks back. I think they sell pre-owned copies, but that depends on the store and whether or not someone trades it in!

And 2k11 is only out on Xbox 360 in retail stores I believe.

Saw on a couple of forums that you need to adjust the sliders to reduce injuries as they occur far too often, especially starting pitchers when they pitch for over 6 innings.

Yeah that's a killer in this game. You can have the injury slider set to 5 and there is still way too many injuries occurring. I just play with injuries off when simming games and turn them back on when i do play.

Haven't been able to get online as the same time as you for a game yet MadTiger, have you played any other aussies yet and is it much better than playing the yanks. Hating that with all the lag that im playing against guys who want to play strikes only game. Only Played 4 or 5 games and haven't gone for a online game since.

I don't think i have played a sports game where playing offline is far more enjoyable than online. Cpu is challenging but not to the point where it cheats like on FIFA for example.
 
I've only played 1 online game against a yank and lag was frustrating.

If there is no aussie lag, then i'm up for a game in the near future.

On an 11 game losing streak with the stinkin Rays in my franchise, the bullpen is junk.

LOL i have carried my Houston Astros to the playoffs on All Star in my player mode. Pity i now have to play the Phillies now, gonna be tough.

Anyone still playing this? i'm still loving my player mode, even though i barely get any free time to play it anymore.
