Tom Hardy is perfect as the smart but understated enforcer. Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren are fun as the Irish crime bosses.

Two episodes in and it's quality. Some intrigue of how it will play out.

Ok. I avoided the trailer and have no comparison. Some great actors making great characters.
If you like Ray Donovan you will like this.

Binged the first 2 eps tonight, Tom Hardy is fantastic so far.. Really enjoying it, grumpy I have to wait for episodes so half tempted to let it sit until it's all out and then can binge

He knows he's ****ed. But what is the best option for protecting his family? It would take a short time for Stevenson to find that the guy's wife and kids are not actually in Spain. Then him try to do a desperate deal with Stevenson in return for telling the truth? Or will he crack under torture? Either way I don't think Harry's plan B is going to work. Which wouldn't be a bad thing for how the show is developing.

Same two episode direction happened on Boardwalk Empire with Scorsese and more recently with Ridley Scott on a Scifi show ; disappointing

A bit of a filler episode this week with some good moments.

In the meantime I'm enjoying the cars. Harry drives an Audi RS 6 Avant performance. Twin turbo V8. 0-100 in 3.4 seconds. On the road in Australia for $283,000. Conrad prefers to be driven in his Bentley Flying Spur Mulliner Hybrid. Twin turbo V8 with 140kW electric motor. 0-100 in 3.6 seconds. Yours for about $900,000. The canal boat was also very nice apart from the kitten shit.

It'll be interesting how Harry's wife's new friend's role will play out in all this.

Surely this whole series is Maeve shit stirring and causing all the trouble. Just elderly cuckoo things right?

I was wondering about H’s car because there was a review for an Audi hot sedan last Friday and that was $75k

It started a chain that will see Harry in deep deep peril with a few people

Kevin starts thinking on what Harry was doing with Bella

Conrad starting to suspect the only 2 in the room with Archie - putting Harry in the crosshairs

Maeve setting it all up for Eddie to take over - I think Maeve loves her Bad Boys so much

And the cops squeezing the screws - Conrad seeing Jan - Richie squeezing Harry

Harry has all these balls juggling and some have to fall

I'm finding the Mauve character to be quite annoying though and it was very obvious from the start that she's knee deep in all this. As I said on another thread, they may as well have her twirling a moustache.

That said, I really enjoy the show.

The mother, Bella, is still the mother. It was established in that episode that Bella was formerly one of Conrad's lovers that he passed on to Kevin. I reckon that Mauve is using Eddie because she actually doesn't care if he dies.
