i know Andy otten's brother max (who is a great footballer aswell), and Andy has spoken to the Kangaroos and Sydney and is widely tipped to go first round.

Surely Andy Otten is being really overlooked. He is being tipped by most to go 30-40.

His stats so far this year:

13 games (in the best in all but two games)
5 BOGs (last 3 games in a row)
Av. 15 kicks per game
Av. 12 handballs per game
Av. 6 marks
Av. 27 disposals

with a bloke that size that can play in such a variety of roles surely he could get picked up higher

would have to agree with you and after seeing his stats i can understand why all of the Chargers boys rate him so highly. He is extreamly versitile, and his finishing skills are not bad either

like what you've got except for i'm fairly certain that rioli would head to essendon having trained with them and playin in the aboriginal all-stars team against them. also think that selwood will go a bit higher in the draft.... but thats just my opinion

You have a valid point in regard to Rioli but I can't see Essendon passing up on Ebert should he still be available when they come into the draft. He's pretty much exactly the midfielder that Essendon are after.

Rioli would no doubt be next in line at Essendon and there remains a reasonable chance that Essendon could slip back a couple of spots in the draft.

I'll swap Selwood with Grimes becuase I think you're right. I held high regard for Grimes, but given Selwood playing better in the Championships, Scott deserves it. It seems like quite a radical drop from 12 to 20 but talls are the priority for the clubs with picks 13-19 in my opinion.

Collingwood are now looking like having a top 10 pick. Do you still think Bellchambers would go at that spot?

"Go Dons" Who is Scott Simpson ? What position does he play ? and why do you think that the Eagles would take him in preference to say Scott Selwood ?

veszpremi and grimes to go that high?

I think Collingwood will look to get their hands on a ruckman. If McEvoy's available, I think they'd take him in preference to Bellchambers but if he's not, I'd expect them to take Bellchambers should there be no star midfielders (ie Cotchin, Masten, Palmer) dropping to them. I can't see them taking a key position player having taken Reid and Nathan Brown last year and already having guys like Rusling, Cloke and O'Brien.

McEvoy is more of a forward than a ruckman. He lacks height and the tap ruck skills to be a ruckman only, and is a lot more a forward who can ruck inside 50.

Why would Collingwood need another tall forward when they've already Cloke, Rocca, Reid, Rusling, etc?

Scott Simpson's a CHF/FF prospect. He's a good kick at goal and a good mark. Given Lynch's lack of ability in overhead marking, I think they may look at Simpson to supersede him in the side.

I think the Eagles would look at Simpson ahead of a guy like Selwood because of their current abundance of midfielders. With guys like Judd, Kerr and Priddis in the middle, they hardly need another tough midfielder in there. Given that the aforementioned aren't going anywhere fast, I think West Coast are better placed to gamble on another key forward. A Mitch Brown/Scott Simpson forward combo certainly looks like it could be imposing in a few years.

I think Carlton would have interest in Veszpremi because he's exactly the type of player that Carlton don't have, that being the bullocking midfielder. I don't think on talent alone he's good enough to go that high, but his heart would appeal.

I've always rated Jack Grimes. He just looks like a natural footballer to me. I think he's talented enough to be up there.

I've heard word that McEvoy's still gorwing so height shouldn't be too much of an issue. Maybe I haven't noticed his lack of ruckwork ability but he seemed to be comfortable enough in the bits I saw of the Championships.

If he grows enough, I think he has the talent to be a handy ruckman. It seems he'll need a bit more time than I expected, but I believe he edges Bellchambers on ability.

Just a quick question "GoDons". Wouldn't Carlton have picks 1 and 3 with the Prioty pick?

Better around the ground, certainly. Bellchambers is a better tap ruckman though.

I thought you were being particularly rough on Jack Grimes, makes sense now.

I think Veszpremi will slip to the 20s only the simple basis that he's not the most skilled player going around.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Grimes go higher but there are a number of clubs who are probably going to chase key position players with their first picks and I think that will push him down the draft order somewhat.

yeh KPP seems to be the theme of the draft this year lol. especially with a lot of shit clubs, which means KPP go higher :p

Thank you for that "GoDons". I didn't see as much of the Under 18's Championship as I might have liked so I failed to notice Simpson. I was just thinking that, as the Eagles "went tall" last season with Brown, MacKenzie and Schofield they might look at a smaller option, perhaps a defender.

True, the Eagles did go tall last year but Mackenzie looks like more of a defensive option and Schofield, whilst tall, shapes as a possible midfielder due to his excellent endurance. Mitch Brown is the only pure forward.

Whilst Hansen and Lynch aren't old, Mitch Brown is the only guy behind them at this stage and think West Coast would prioritise get another tall forward option.

Also, West Caost strike me as fairly well off for running defenders with Shannon Hurn, Brett Jones, Mark Nicoski, Adam Selwood, Will Schofield, Beau Waters and David Wirrpanda all more than capable.

Simpson also has the ability to ruck and could be a possible back up for Seaby and Cox.

McEvoy is a ruckman who is being played forward but in the AFL he projects as a ruckman. Chris Knights spent his entite Eastern career playing inside 50 when he always projected as a midfielder, why? Because Tac coaches are also trying to get into the AFL system and wins rather than development are a priority for some. Robert Hyde was one coach who was completely selfless in developing Calder players who were always tried in a variety of different postions. If by some miracle McEvoy is there when the Pies pick they won't hesitate to pull the trigger and use him as a ruckman.
