I don't know, people are always telling me what not to do when drinkng, but I find that most of the time they are wrong, take for instance last year for summer holidays I got a job as a bartender/waiter, for the first 2 weeks 6:00 starts on evening after spening the entire day at the beach,cricket,pool partys I was always drunk, until one day I rock up sober, and then get accused of being on drugs and fired as a result becasue 'You just look more alert than usual'....moral of the story, never do things half-half....either post drunk ALL the time (ala me) or don't post drunk at all....it's your choice, but at least people will know what to expect

On the question of mods, I can't say I have had much to do witht he mods on the Freo board, but the only one time I have had a dealing with them they were polite, freindly and very efficent, I will definitely use them again and in fact i've even started telling my freinds about them....oh wait that was Langtrees....j/k

Keep up the good work Ripper and Sabre ac, I don't know what being a moderator entails but by the amount of verbal feaces I sprout around i don't particulary envy your job of moderating it all.

As far as why the site was started and if it makes money, to get exact details you would have to speak to Chief.

I can tell you what I know, the guy isn't american and I am pretty sure BigSoccer doesn't have much impact on the content of this site. Furthermore I don't think this site exactly make's a bucket load of money.

I can tell you for a fact team board moderator's are given very little instruction's on how to run their boards. Other than the obvious "No-No's" it's pretty much fair game, one look at how different each team board is prove's this point.

Absolute rubbish? You admit you don't know why the site was started and how much money it makes. You admit you are given instructions about what is not permitted. How does that make my post absolute rubbish?

If it wasn't started by an American company then I have been misinformed about that part.

Dockerland is a big part in this site and board's popularity, they can run their site anyway they want.
But the fact remain's many disgruntled posters left that site for a board where they could actually say something negative about THEIR club.

This thread asked if we should have moderator election, an overwhelming response from the poster was No.

This of course ignores the fact that any election has almost 0 impact on who moderates.

Finally it is becoming an all out war between the usual combatant's, something we have been trying to stamp out.

There have been "all out wars", sometimes called "heated debates", about all number of issues on this board. You seem to advocate heated debate in which everyone can have their say. Why not allow it in this instance? I thought you were all in favour of a less strict moderation stance.

You have completely lost your "objectiveness" here Roundhouse. There is a difference between heated debate over say, Des Headland's spot on the team, me saying he sucks, you saying he is brilliant, versus me saying your a fool for thinking it, and you saying something personal back to me.

The entire thread is about the moderation, and the only one not happy with the moderation is you. You are just digging yourself deeper and deeper, and insulting the moderators is also not a good way to go.

Be honest? Suggesting an election behind the backs of every poster bar you and Ripper would have been pretty weak and dishonest. Why would I need to "gain support" for the election idea from posters anyway? You and Ripper are the only ones that could have made it happen.

I've made the suggestion where everyone could see it. You have declined. Once you said that you be prepared to throw your hat in the ring for election I stopped suggesting it.

What could be more honest than that?

P.S. you still seem eagre to discuss my motives, if they are not worthy of thread then stop questioning them. You can PM after you have closed it if you want to make further insinuations.

From an outsiders perspective, the Freo board is the ONLY one where I have ever received an infraction. Very unfairly IMO.
