Now that the season is practically over, obviously it's time to play the kids and see what they offer.
As well as this I think it's imperative we look at other players in different positions/roles and try and find something positive before the seasons finished.
Things like Griffiths to CHB, and Vlaustin into the guts need to be tried but also had a thought should we try someone like Andrew Moore as a tagger. Now we'll all agree his only game for us was very ordinary. But before we just send him on his way is it worth a try? Seeing North having success with Jacobs as a tagger who was a flakey flanker before his "makeover" I don't think we have a lot to lose. He's powerful, has a big motor and being a former top 10 pick there has to be a bit of talent there. Most of you might think this idea sucks but it just could work... Stranger things have happened!!

I would love andrew moore to do well but in his only game he lacking in intensity (like many of our other players ATM). That is not a great start for a tagged, but give him a go I guess.

Looked terrible in his debut , one of the signs I look for in a player. Is the ability to carry the footy and move with the aggot in hand , takes belief and ability ,, young George showed a couple of nice moves last night that serve my point .....Moore was terrible , like Townsend , dishes off the ball like a hot spud whether it's constructive or not is simply lucky dip

You want a tagger then Jacob Townsend is the one who should be played in the role or at least tried.

Me too :D
Yeah Townsend could definitely be an option too... North have showed the value in an effective tagger!

Oh god, have we learnt nothing. Trying to turn player X into something he isn't. A tagger is a role a player can play but they also need to be able to do other things such as find the footy themselves, something Moore seemed to struggle with at SANFL and now VFL.

Next we will be trying Morris as a defensive forward........

you guys are a bit harsh, he only played 1 game and already his a dud?
Six years at Port was more than a game. He single handed cost them a spot in the 2014 GF when he butchered the ball twice in the last quarter and at least anothe couple of poor decisions . Why don't people just go onto other BF forums to read up on these guys ? He is a slow moving and thinking ball butcher with zero upside
thanks BH

Both Townsend and Moore have been significantly underwhelming.....

I'd rather work through our draftees because overdoing it with these two who have had a fair shot already.
Agree they have been underwhelming... However Moore has played one game. Hardly a fair shot I would have thought!!

Well you may have had a good point but saying Moore can't find the pill at vfl and sanfl level is rather incorrect. He consistently gets 20 plus possessions. It's his ball use that is the killer at that level.
Also what's with the defeatist attitude? Yes the Morris move didn't work but does that mean we just give up trying things. The season is shot, this is the perfect time to try moves. You don't have to agree with this move but most the time you don't know if player X can do something unless you try it. We can all be hindsight heroes when it doesn't work though can't we?!?!

I could of taged cotch out of the game with his bad back. And norf are tge only team than have a hard tag
Not sure what cotchins so called bad back has to do with this... However the point is tagging does happen and can be a highly effective tactic. And it just so happens the only unbeaten team has the best in the business. It's something I believe we need to consider. Quality onballers have there way with us in a scary way!!

I dont think they've been underwhelming. Both have been about as shit as expected.

Agree. People are being harsh on these guys that were probably never going to play AFL again unless Richmond got them. In the off season some people were treating them like they were star recruits and like most people thought, it was never going to work out like that. I don't blame the players, I blame the hype from supporters.

McDonough got it heaps of times at VFL too.

Our side is currently full of half forwards that we are trying to teach to play half back, we have KPF in Elton that is rotting away as a defender, B Ellis an outside mid that can't do anything else......enough! Time to recruit players who's natural ability is what we need. I swear if we recruited Stringer he would be lining up in the back pocket.

All the evidence of trying player X in a different and not natural position is killing us.

Happy to change my thought train if someone can convince me but who have we recruited at this club in Hardwicks tenure that has been succesful at changing his role?
