More Carlton news for us deprived tragics!!

Summer = forced rehab for all of us footy addicts

Isnt it supposed to be the best time of year?? Then shouldn't you have all your vices at hand!!

While i'm wrapped we haven't had the same negative pre/post season media bashing that we have had the last six or so years. The gap between seasons end and nab cup seems longer than ever!

While we do have each other to swap training reports, pics and goss with, (and i appreciate you all for your time and imput) Its kinda like swapping smokes from extra mild to ultimate. I have to spend twice as long looking for news and coming back half as satisfied.

We do however have this place we could all go to feel relief, if only the AFL didn't controll it like the governments proposed used of safe injecting rooms, The cfc site.
This site is a wonder to me! Why do we have it if it never has anything worth reading, and only seems to be updated once a fortnight??

Its an exciting time to be a blue!! We have many new faces and alot with big expectations. I want to hear from and about them!! I want to read training reports from the coaches. Interviews with players. and overviews from the club...From the club!!

Is it too much too ask the club to change the '60 seconds with...' and do a good player interview on their individual pre season each week, their personal gains?? Is it too much to ask one of our coaching staff to put together a small report on our open sessions, stating what they are trying to achieve and why what they are doin will help?? Is it too much ask the board to put out say, a monthly report of the growth of the club's brand as a whole?? Visy do have the Herald sun's Tony De Bolfo on the books to control media!!

Or should i just go to the beach

Even though we get great training reports and pics on BF, I would have thought the club would keep us updated on the training sessions throughout the preseason. However, they seem to do these adhoc articles about certain players, which, are still worth a read, seem to be more fluff than the real nitty gritty stuff we want to read.

I read a thread I think on TC on how much better it is now. Better for what? Going for a 3 km run while it loads? Are we supposed to break into tears of joy because the scum at Telstra deem it allowable for us to watch video content without paying for it? It has been so bad that saying it is better is like the doctor telling you you don't have cancer of the brain you have cancer of the arseh*le - you're still ****ed!

I probably go there once a month for player stats but thats because no-ones shown me a better place of which I'm certain there are plenty. Also to make sure the Judd thing wasn't just a beautiful dream.

I partly blame the AFL for hamstringing the site by contractually tying to Telstra, a company I can barely bring myself to mention without wanting to be sick and eat it. But yes, the club have done stuff all to make it an up to date, entertaining source of information for the footy starved supporter.

but Telstra's involvement is pathetic!!

Essendon used to have a great site coz they ran it themselves but were forced to commit to Telstra as well.

Everything that has been said is true.

I can't help but think back a few years when the website barely changed from the end of the draft, through to the start of the year........no player interviews or videos, no coaches comments on the upcoming year........

Its an area the club can control and could use much better, no question, but they have improved over time as well.

In a lot of ways this is the bussiest time of year for coaches, so to get them to contribute regularly would be tough.......as they already do quite a bit of radio etc, but they could use the site more........no question.

Yep. We are a "franchise" now, not a club. And the thing about franchises is they are based on identical templates. Essendon's site had made them a grouse little corner milk-bar. Now they are a boring, plastic 7/11 like the rest of us. Sad and infuriating.

awwwww thanks for the mention BM..... I really get a thrill of being able to get some pics put in here for you peeps to cast your eyes on.... maybe to give you an insight on how the boys are looking atm.

Not everyone can get to training (and I wish I didn't have a fulltime job so I could get there during the week ...hehehehehe) so to go with the wonderful job that BG does on the training reports..... pics are handy

But it is not myself that does all the work for the pics....it is my hubby....so I must personally thank him for the work that he does.... thanx babe.... you will be rewarded for your efforts hehehehehehe

Sorry but a few silly questions to a player is hardly blood pumping material. The South African TV Promo is a little more like it.

There are an estimated 700 000 carlton supporters nationwide.

We will have about 40 000 members next year.

But I would estimate only 500-1000 of us real Carlton tragics follow these forums in search of every bit of info/insight we can get.

Perhaps the club would like to spend it's resources in other ways than paying someone to provide us relatively few tragics with more insightful updates.

If any voulunteers would offer to do something on a weekly/monthly basis in a similar vain ( but more serious I hope ) to Mike & Dan the initiative may be welcomed by the club.

But not only is that not better -it's much worse:

Cancer of the brain = you're f*cked in the head.

we waited for Bryce to come out after training on Saturday but he took too long & we had to leave because my hubby had to get home & get ready for work as he is on afternoon shift & started at 3pm.
I really think she was a bit disappointed but she had her pic taken with fev, kruezer & Murph (see pic of Fev & Demi Below)
Oh well there's always next time

With a little patience I bet my boys would like a pic with the fev , I may need to recheck our old pics from when my wife took the kids to family day a couple of seasons ago . I know they got their pic taken with Jarrod Waite , full credit to the man too as that was 1 or 2 days after his father passed away . Be iteresting to see how many of the players in our old pics are still there .

I think a lot of journos/reporters don't want to sound like a broken record, just continuously talking about Carlton's list and what's happening, but I see your point.

Maybe the Herald Sun or the Age could have a weekly team/training report in the paper at minimum? It's not as though theres nobody willing to document each team's training sessions.

I must say that Fev's realised that your daughter's quite the looker. Look at his superb hand placement..... May not be on the sweet spot, but he's certianly working some magic.
