the bloke didnt get injured from it, was off for a couple minutes then came back and looked fine in the last quarter, was a good shepherd that copped him a bit high, pretty soft I think.. should have got 1 and reprimand on early plea

Morris only gets one week instead of two because of a early plea, doesn't he? If he appeals it and it is unsuccessful he runs the risk of getting two weeks.

No point fighting against a rock, it cant think so best to accept it and have him available for Geelong the week after.

Didn't look like much in it but guess we take the 1 week. Thankfully he will be available for Geelong and their small forwards - Stokes, Motlop, Christansen.

Can he play for Coburg at least or no footy at all?

Don't have a clip but I saw it and thought there wasn't lots in it, it was a shepherd but he did make contact with his head, and unfortunately that's pretty much an automatic suspension these days. When it happened me and my mate looked at each other and said "2 weeks".

Elliot moves at the last minute and changes direction which results in his head rather than his shoulder being hit Morris is not at fault as he was following the line Elliot was running which is straight towards the ball carrier.

That was my thought... Elliot obviously saw Morris the split second before they came together, and instinctively dropped lower in trying to evade the Morris bump. As a result, there was contact with the head - unavoidable as Elliot got so low - you can see in the picture he's dropped his knees.

Under the rules, Morris "initiated the contact" in that he intended to bump, and got him high. I'd contend the medium impact... I thought his head glanced off Morris' bicep/shoulder as Elliot attempted evasive action, and there wasn't a whole lot of force in it.

Fact is, it's probably right under the current rules. Another fact is, the rules (on the whole) are becoming more and more out of touch with the game. The new sliding into the legs rule is a great case in point. This is another.
