I came across the poll on the official site, thought about it for a minute, before remaining undecided. The poll listed D. Johnson, Slade, GAJ and Rooke.

I've only managed to see maybe 7-8 games on tv, one live at the ground and listened to a couple live on radio so I don't have the best position to judge from.

Early in the year it would have to have been Corey but he has fallen away. Sanderson and Rooke have improved on early season form but probably not a lot on past year(s). Enright has picked up a little with the dependables (Ablett, Chapman, Ling, Scarlett) taking another step.

So who is your most improved player?

Only possible candidates in my mind are Ablett, Scarlett, Ling and Chapman.

Scarlett and Ling have taken the biggest step, but Ablett will win it.

Scarlett and Ling were already pretty good players before the start of this season, they've just taken that next step to become great players.... Scarlett the best full back in the competition and Ling one of the best midfielders.

Ablett struggled a bit last year in his first year, not playing many games and not getting too much of the ball. Compare that to what Ablett's been able to do this season, not only consistently getting possessions but managing to kick goals. Ablett has not had a game where he's got under 10 possessions so far this season.

Chapman, Corey (at the start of the year) and Rooke are the other players that come to mind when I think of players who've improved on the previous year.

I reckon Chappy has raised the bar to the next level completely this season. What impresses me the most about Chappy is his tenacity and consistency, and of course, the way he wins the hard ball.

Also, it's somewhat pleasing to see Corey Enright gain some consistency. His last month has been rather impressive.

<snip>

So who is your most improved player?

Of those listed, I'd take David Johnson and Will Slade out, due to the simple fact that they haven't played nearly as many games as other players on the team have.

That boils it all down to being between Gary Ablett Jr. and Jarad Rooke. Between the two, I'd say Rooke-- Ablett Jr. was already a known commodity, and although he's added quite a bit to his overall game, Rooke has come out of nowhere, realtively speaking, to be a standout on this team. So I'd have to go with Rooke on this one.

Another name to consider is Spriggs, in his previous playing year, he was looking a bit lost and was a real liability, and while he hasn't set the world on fire thus year, he is a lot more consistent and IMO has improved dramatically.

I agree that Spriggs has shown signs of improvement, especially since coming back into the side for the Hawthorn game in round 9.
