Again, what does this have to do with his actual football ability? It just means that he has a good agent who is able to generate income for him outside of football. It doesn't mean people rate him any higher as a player as far as I can see. In fact, it's probably to his detriment. If we're complaining about being on television too much in relation to their football ability, then why aren't people calling Russell Robertson overrated? I don't actually think he's overrated, but he's been on television just as much as Dale Thomas has in the last 18 months-2 years I'd think.

hilariously funny how posters will turn a blind eye to 2 AA jumpers, a norm smith, B & F, and a player single handedly dragging his side to a premiership with Dermie-Like finals performances and judge Hodge on about 2 or 3 shit games whilst clearly crippled with injury.

Its only a matter of time before we can bump all these hilarious threads. Hodge fit is a top 10 player in the comp without shadow of a doubt, only difference is now he is not fit.

I hate Hodge as much as anyone (he has personally desroyed the bombers many times) but sivart is 100% correct - Hodge is a gun & would be one of the first picked at any club

Adelaide - Edwards - age is catching up with him used to be good but not damaging
Brisbane - Rischitelli - looked like something, looks can be decieving
Carlton - Stevens - fat boy is just not that good
Collingwood - Thomas - has gone backwards, was better in his first year
Essendon - McPhee - tries hard, runs all day, but just can't get the ball enough
Footscray - Griffen - goes missing too much
Fremantle - Bradley - ok he is not rated by anyone, but obviously was when essendon drafted him #6
Geelong - Mooney - made to look good by the best team in the league
Hawthorn - Lewis - Hodge is a little dirty and a lot good, Lewis is a lot dirty and little good
Melbourne - Sylvia - has never done anything
North Melbourne - Simpson - was ordinary when kicking to Carey, now worse
Port Adelaide - Brogan - like most bullies, knows how shit he is so tries to defelct

I think Robertson had a solid track record as an AFL footballer prior to taking part in the media. He had shown he had the ability not only to play but to excel at the highest level.

Thomas, on the other hand, is yet to really progress to a point where he excels, he contributes no doubt, but he isn't the player he is expected to be at this point. His haircut has opened a lot of doors for him, more so than his playing ability. In any case, I still think he has the potential to be a good player, and I agree with you to an extent, but you would expect that players chosen for advertising purposes/tv are very good footballers.

I wouldn't pick him or Hodge for this title, Travis Cloke would get my vote.

Yeah, he doesn't get 30+ touches every week but the the importance of him to our club is immense. He can play anywhere, he always does his job, he is classy and he is a leader. He deserves every bit of credit he gets. He is not an over rated player.
