Moving to Melbourne

Hey all,

Quick question for the Melbournians, am looking at a move to the Garden State and may find it difficult to secure work before I move.

If the option was to move and hit the ground running would goin to recuitment agenceys be the best go, and not 100% on the job market there in Melbourne.. anyway if anyones got any tips or have done the same thing goin to Melbourne from Adelaide feel free to help..

Yes, get in touch with recruitment agencies before you leave.

I did that when moving from Queensland to Melbourne, and I had agencies ringing me on the mobile as I was driving through Gundagie (sp?).

I arrived on the Thursday night, and by the Monday had a temp assignment, then two weeks later I had fulltime work.

also, when the agencies offer you jobs, ask them what the employers policy is on internet usage and viewing.

Yeah I reckon thats the way ill go, got a few options with accommodation over there so that should be ok

What about any other things I should look out for when making the move ie getting around, big fan of the public transport so I dont mind that etc etc etc
