Well it is now pretty much a fact that the only team that can possibly throw a punch, perform a bump or do anyhthing outside the spirit of the game are officially Essendon players. I put it that if NLM had thrown the jumper punch thrown by Mcphee he would have been scrubbed for 2-3 weeks. However coz McPhee is such a pussy he cant punch hard enough to get suspended for a weak as piss dog act. The MRP is obviously protecting the uselessness displayed by umpire Banister who can be seen in slow motion to be looking driectly at Jetta when the incident pccurred yet claiming that he didnt see it.
Simon Black backhander off the ballk busting up Pickens nose would scrub out many players for a few weeks also. Very similar to toss pot Camplbell Brown last year yet Mr squeaky clean walks again.
I am so over the MRP and their shit and it is definately time for a review to be performed independently to assess their bias that is continually show by this pack of friggin idiots. I could go on and on with examples but just looking at who have had scrubbed out and what they have been scrubbed out for basically just makes me sick. I say to Essendon players forget the bump, forget the tackle, grab a jumper and punch shit out of someone and you should be right just like everyone else.

How funny would it be if clubs were allowed to use precedence when defending a case? Nobody would ever be suspended again due to the MRP's incompetence.

If we want our youngsters following the 'jumper punch to the head = OK' rule, then they have made the right decision.
Not a good look for the game, or McFlee.

Nothing about the MRP surprises me anymore. In fact, if they actually ever got a decision right, then THERE would be the shock.

Has anyone ever been suspended for a jumper punch? Genuine question.
There may have been, but I certainly don't remember it, and if there has, those instances are certainly few and far between.
Not saying it makes any sense that jumper punches are ok, or that they should be ok, but for the time being, they just are. This will change as the AFL will stamp it out sooner rather than later. But currently, players don't get rubbed out for it, which is exactly why they do it. So this hardly highlights inconsistencies of the MRP, as far as I can see, they are very consistent on it.

Bernie Vince a few weeks ago.

I am actually more pissed about the fact that Boyd walked after his bump.
He went the player not the ball, got high contact, ;launched at hte player, concussed the player mininmally and walks scott free
Davey bumps in the play trying to get the ball, dropping his knees to attempt o lay a fair bump and because the dude hits his head on the ground Davey gets the equivalent offer of 3 weeks suspension
THhs to me was just utter bullshit,.
Listening to Mark Fraser justify the MRP decisions is more turning of the stomach than the decisions themselves.
As for jumper punching i am of the opinion if you strike and hit above the shoulder it should be treated the same whether or not you have a hold of someones jumper. By propelling someones face back to your fist using their jumper you can land a very nasty punch indeed. The fact that Bannister was looking directly at h te incident and somehow didnt even see it is bewildering along with many of his free kicks paid in that game.

Also remember Zaka got a reprimand for a 'negligent' elbow against GWS. Black's elbow was more reckless and forceful than zaka's yet he gets nothing.

Rioli got done for an ATTEMPTED strike

Seems its better to make contact then narrowly miss

Judd and Pav?

The fact the MRP has to guess the intent of an incident, the fact that they use medical reports to determine the severity of an incident rather the action itself, the fact that they see identical incidents differently from game to game and week to week etc etc.....

The MRP is doing more harm to the game than good. Everybody I know that follows footy is clueless when it comes to predicting the MRP findings, and everybody agrees it is a joke and needs a serious review asap.

with all my bitchiness this expresses what i am trying to say very nicely. very well written :-)

"With this, McPhee has hold of Jetta's jumper and he sort of pushes him with his arm," Fraser said.
Are they watching the punch in super slow-mo? Absolute joke.

If these people deny they are complete morons then they are just plain terrible at their job. I'm not sure which one is worse.

(Jetta still flopped though, he's a bit of a disgrace)

Glad Banister didn't pay the free as in doing so it may well help the penny drop for Jetta in that you carry on like a w***er, you get treated like one.

That said I still believe Banister didn't see the incident as he appears to be looking just to the right of Jetta at the time Mcphukstick threw the punch.

As to the MRP, meh who cares

I personally believe a free kick should have been paid. It was off the ball and players were wrestling. Any head high contact is meant to be a free kick. I particularly like the fact that McPisweak choose to punch Jetta nd not Hurley knowing that his only future after football will be driving a friggin cab.
