So, if Fyfes was bad but Viney's was good. What was the precedent and will Fyfe be the only person penalised by the new rule this year?

SJ got a week which sounds about right.
Was that the one where he gave Mickey B a little facial massage when he was on the ground? For the headbutt
Nothing for hitting Barlow in the head with his elbow, which was much worse than what Clarke did to him
The chook lotto also decries that Hannebery gets off for the incident with Hurley. Sydney saved by the AFL again.
They've classified Johnson's head butt as reckless, not deliberate. **** me sideways.
A head butt. Hopeless ******* jokes
Clarke was in trouble from the get go, but it was made to look a lot worse by Stevie J's antics rolling around on the ground.Good call.
As was the Clarke, (come on people he elbowed him in the head, that is always going to go), and the SJ suspension.
Obviously a bee has flown straight up the hooter just as Crowls has leaned over to ask how many kicks he's got so far. As SJ has tried to dislodge the errant critter he has unfortunately made contact with Creepy's lip. He's got a nervous tic.

Zac Clarke offered a reprimand. For what I don't know, lifting his arm up in the vicinity of SJ apparently.
Zac Clarke, Fremantle, has been charged with a Level Two striking offence (125 demerit points, one-match sanction) for striking Steve Johnson, Geelong, during the second quarter of the round nine match between Fremantle and Geelong, played at Patersons Stadium on Saturday May 17, 2014.
In summary, his one-match sanction can be reduced to a reprimand and 93.75 demerit points towards his future record with an early plea.
Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from the Geelong Football Club, the incident was assessed as reckless conduct (two points), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points). This is a total of five activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level One Offence, drawing 125 demerit points and a one-match sanction. He has no existing good or bad record. An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to a reprimand and 93.75 demerit points towards his future record.
Wasn't his head. Was his neck. Still considered high though, so same result.Good call.

doesn't matter.
Pretty cr@ppy luck. Looked like he accidentally caught SJ in the throat instead of the chest (which is what I reckon he was aiming for, but didn't account for SJ's relative stumpiness). His reaction afterwards is a pretty clear sign that there was virtually zero intent to harm.
If it'd been Hodge or someone I'm sure it would have been called insufficient force, or a legitimate attempt to shepherd, or some other creative interpretation. No such luck for us.
Even the fact that they've called it reckless... whereas Gibson's rabbit-punch elbow to the back of Conca's head got negligent. Just so f*ckin' inconsistent.

Exactly right, it can't have been anything except negligent and he was trying to give him a sharp little bump with his elbow as happens 100's of times a game. Whereas Johnson just lined up Barlows head
