That link to the chatrooms is through the msn page and not through messenger - you usually just chat to one person at time by clicking on their id - but you can invite otheres in to jointhe chat - i've done - it works ok.

With the msn chat rooms you have a download a bit of software to get going.

Ah ok, so there's not really much difference between a conversation between two users or more than two users.
