Not good - Ross Lewis just tweated that 16 Freo players have had operations this month

When does the season start - late March?

Why does he need 6 months to recover? Or is it like 4 months of recovery and then 2 months to get into shape?

Either way, that's freaking ages to recover after an operation, isn't it?

Player management has been poor this year, player development, set plays, rotations of midfielders, etc.
If this doesnt improve next year, we may watch the club down the road go 4 to nil.
Played Sandi on his own, when we had three ruckmen, no midfield development, so then wasted Pav in the middle, till he broke.
Then give up on Houghton, Bucovaz, Walters, Pearce, Keplar, Griffen, when some had the golden ticket, not pointing at anyone.
Is it the players, or the system?
Harvey has one year to turn it around, or lets do something we should of done from the start, experienced and hardened professional people, no more excuses, changing the song, or recruiting the so called missing piece of the puzzle, develop our own.
This has nothing to do with M Clark, champion teams win flags.

Are you drunk or just high on drugs ?

I didn't understand a ****ing word of that.

Good to see that come back game was worth it.

Yea, I didn't like the idea of him playing that game either - though he didn't look too bad out there, especially early. His sort of injury is notoriously tricky and unpredictable - so having said that I'm not sure whether playing that day would have made that much difference. I'm far from an expert, but what I do know about his sort of injury is that they can often take a long long time to come good and, though I'm not familiar with the surgery he had, I said at the time I wouldn't be surprised he's out of action until our next pre-season. Whether playing that day or not would have made an overall difference - it's hard to tell, but I would have like a bit more caution.

Do we have any proper information on the sort of surgery he had?

Well I suppose whoever is the health insurance sponsor at Freo is doing remarkably well out of all this

16 players for operations is absolutely astonishing

Don't know, but have heard from Ross Lewis that Harves thinks Mundy may be the only one who has a delayed start.

So, Mundy is possibly out, Ibbotson, Lower and Fyfe have all had shoulder reconstructions.

Next year's shaping as a beauty

It's cool, man. Mitch Clark will get us to the grand final even without these guys, or so Harves is lead to believe.

..

Broken nails at least 4 of those surgeries.

What is the alternative, play through the season at 50% ?

Poor management of Mundy though, if it is his ankle.

Seriously, they better be looking hard at the fitness department. 16 surgeries is ****ing insane. I hope this doesn't mean 16 players having a delayed pre-season.

16 surgeries is stock standard I'd say. It won't be 16 having shortened pre-seasons. The majority will be little cleanups etc. Others having shoulder recons can still do the running fitness early on which is what early pre-season is generally about. Mundy won't be 6 months, it will be a 2 month if that. He will have a "shortened" pre-season, but nothing like last years shortened one and will be fine by round 1.

So Mundy is to miss the start of the season, hopefully our fitness and medical department have finally realised you cant bring players back too early especially if they are underdone.
